THOMAS WOOD (c. 1633–1687), son of Edward Wood and Ruth Lee

Thomas Wood was born about 1633, perhaps in Nuneaton, co Warwick. [1][2] He was buried on 12 September 1687 in Rowley. [1][3] He married Ann ___on 7 June 1654 in Rowley. [1]
Ann ___ was born about 1637 and died on 29 December 1714 in Rowley. [1]
The 2 February 1697/8 will of Mary Grant, widow of John Grant of Rowley, reveals that Ann, wife of Thomas Wood, and Susanna, wife of John Todd, were her sisters. [2]
Thomas and his brother Phineas probably lived with their sister Elizabeth after their parents' death, and learned the carpentry trade from her husband. [2]
Thomas Wood made his will on 21 July 1687 in Rowley; it was proved on 23 November 1687 in Boston. He mentions his three daughters Mary Chute, Ann Plummer, and Ruth Jewett. [2]

i. Mary Wood was born on 15 March 1654/5 in Rowley. She married James Chute.
ii. John Wood was born on 2 November 1656 in Rowley. [3] He died between 4 July 1729 and 26 December 1738. [1] He married Isabel Hazen on 16 January 1680 in Rowley. [3]
iii. Thomas Wood was born on 10 August 1658 in Rowley. [3] He was buried on 1 December 1702 in Rowley. [3] He married Mary Hunt on 26 June 1683 in Rowley. [1][3] Mary, the daughter of Nehemiah and Mary (Tooll) Hunt of Concord, was born on 28 September 1664 and died on 7 November 1754 in Mansfield, Connecticut. [1] Mary married second Dr. Simon Davis on 19 October 1714 in Concord. [1] Simon, the son of Simon and Mary (Blood), was born on 12 October 1661 in Concord. [1]
iv. Ann Wood was born on 8 August 1660 in Rowley. [3] She died between 13 October 1706 and 13 September 1715 in Byfield. [1] She married Benjamin Plummer on 15 January 1678 in Rowley. [1][3] Benjamin, the son of Joseph and Sarah (Cheney) Plummer, was born on 23 October 1656 in Newbury and died on 8 July 1724 in Byfield. [1]
v. Ruth Wood was born on 21 July 1662 in Rowley. [3] She died there on 29 November 1734. [1] She married first Captain Joseph Jewett on 16 January 1680 in Rowley. [1][3] Joseph, the son of Joseph and Ann Jewett, was born on 1 April 1656 in Rowley and died there on 30 October 1694. [1] Ruth married second John Lunt on 26 October 1696 in Rowley. [1] John, the son of of John and Mary (Skerry) Lunt, was born on 22 October 1669 in Newbury and died on 22 April 1741 in Salisbury, Essex County, Massachusetts. [1]
John was a tailor and cordwainer. [1]
vi. Elizabeth Wood (twin) was born on 5 September 1664 in Rowley. [3] She died on 31 July 1675 in Rowley. [1]
Elizabeth was burned to death while saving a brother from death in a house fire. [1]
vii. Josiah Wood (twin) was born on 5 September 1664 in Rowley. [3] He died on 3 August 1723 in Ipswich. [1] He married Margaret Hopkins on 23 December 1686 in Rowley. [1][3] She died on 22 January 1752 in Ipswich. [1]
viii. Samuel Wood was born on 26 December 1666 in Rowley. [3] He died "coming from Canada" on 25 November 1690. [3] He married Margaret Elithorp on 21 January 1688/9 in Rowley. [1] Margaret, the daughter of Nathaniel and Mary (Batt) Elithorp, was born on 24 July 1772 in Ipswich and there on 25 February 1754. [1] She married second as his second wife Jonathan Herriman on 19 August 1691 in Rowley. [1] Jonathan, the son of Leonard and Margaret Herriman, was born on 5 December 1657 in Rowley and died there on 15 February 1741/2. [1]
ix. Solomon Wood was born on 17 May 1669 in Rowley. [3] He died on 13 January 1752 in Uxbridge, Worcester County, Massachusetts. [1] He married Mary Haseltine on 15 October 1690 in Rowley. [3] Mary, the daughter of David Hazeltine, was born on 11 December 1671 in Bradford and died on 21 February 1749 in Uxbridge. [1]
Solomon was an innkeeper in Uxbridge. [1]
x. Ebenezer Wood was born on 29 December 1671 in Rowley. [3] He died before 15 December 1736 in Mendon. [1] He married first Rachel Nichols on 5 April 1695 in Rowley. [1][3] Rachel, the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Moulton) Nichols of Amesbury, was born on 25 February 1674/5 in Amesbury and died after 14 July 1717 in Mendon. [1] Ebenezer married second Joanna Gage on 11 August 1718 in Rowley. [1] Joanna, the daughter of Thomas and Sarah Gage of Beverly, was born on 23 December 1689 in Beverly and died by 14 August 1753 in Mendon. [1]
xi. James Wood was born on 22 June 1674 in Rowley. [3] He died on 18 October 1694 in Rowley. [3]
