Samuel, the son of Thomas Blodgett and Susan ___, was baptized on 12 July 1633 in Stowmarket, co. Suffolk. [1] He died on 21 May 1720, at nearly 87, in Woburn. [2][3] He married Ruth Eggleton on 13 December 1655 in Woburn. [2]

Ruth, was the daughter of ___ Eggleton and Jane ___. [3] Ruth, the wife of Samuel, died on 14 October 1703 in Woburn. [2]

Samuel left for New England, along with his parents and older brother Daniel, on the Increase on 18 April 1635. He is listed as age one and a half. [4] After the death of his father, when he was eleven, he was taken to live at the house of his stepfather James Thompson in Woburn. [3]

Samuel was a selectman in Woburn in 1681, 1690–1691, 1693, 1695–1697, and 1703. He was deputy to the General Court in 1693. [3]

Samuel had land laid out for him near Rag Rock in 1671. In 1672 he and William Locke joined to buy 37 acres from William Johnson. [3]

i. Ruth Blodgett was born on 28 December 1656. She died on 18 December 1695 at the birth and death of her tenth child in Woburn. [3] She married Thomas Kendall in 1673/4. [3] Thomas, the son of Francis Kendall, was born on 10 January 1648/9 in Woburn and died there on 25 May 1730. [3] He married second Abigail (Rayner) Broughton on 30 March 1696 in Woburn. [3] She was the daughter of Reverend John Rayner of Dover and the widow of Captain John Broughton, who was killed by Indians on 29 June 1689. [3]

ii. Samuel Blodgett was born on 10 December 1658. He died on 21 May 1720 in Woburn. He married Huldah Symonds.

iii. Thomas Blodgett was born on 26 February 1661. He died on 29 September 1740 in Lexington. [3] He married Rebecca Tidd on 11 November 1685 in Woburn. [2] Rebecca was the daughter of John Tidd and Rebecca Wood. [3]

vii. Susanna Blodgett died on 9 February 1715 in Woburn. She married James Simonds on 29 December 1685 in Woburn. [2]

v. Sarah Blodgett was born on 17 February 1668. She died on 19 September 1692 in Concord. [3] Sarah of Woburn married John Hayward of Concord on 7 January 1687 in Woburn. [2]

vi. Martha Blodgett (twin) was born on 15 September 1673. She died after 1710. [3] She married Joseph Winn on 7 April 1696 in Woburn. [2] Joseph, the son of Joseph Winn, was born on 15 May 1671 in Woburn. [2]

vii. Mary Blodgett (twin) was born on 15 September 1673. She died on 11 March 1752 in Woburn. [3] She married Joseph, the son of Joseph Richardson and grandson of Samuel Richardson, on 24 October 1693 in Charlestown. [3]
