Moses Barron (1643–1699), son of Elias Barron and Grace Unknown

Mary Learned (b. 1646/7), daughter of Isaac Learned and Mary Stearns


Moses Barron was born on 1 (1) 1643 in Watertown. [1] Moses, Sr., died on 25 April 1699 in Chelmsford. [2] He married Mary Learned by 1669. [3]

Mary Learned was born on 15: 5m: 1646 in Watertown [1] or 7 August 1647 in Woburn. [4] She was baptised on 1: 12 m: 1656 in Chelmsford. [1]

Moses Barron was on a 1 September 1674 list of able-bodied men in Chelmsford. [5, 89] He was a selectman in 1687. [5, 754–6]

Either Moses or his son Moses was appointed school master in Chelmsford on 28 May 1705 [5, 553]

Mary's stepfather John Burge refers to her as Mary Barron in his will of 1 June 1671. [6]

i. Captain Moses Barron was born on 28 October 1669. Captain Moses Barron died on 16 September 1719, age about 50, in Chelmsford. [2] He married Mary (Bunker) Richardson as her second husband on 2 February 1697/8 in Chelmsford. [2][7] Mary was born about 1679 and died in 1741. [7] She married third Thomas Howe in 1724. [7]

Mary Barron, widow, Jonathan Barron and William Fletcher posted a bond for the estate of Captain Moses Barron on 21 January 1719/20. [8]

Captain Moses's gravestone in Chelmsford says that he died on 16 September 1719, age about 50. [5, 723]

Captain Moses Bararon was a selectman in Chelmsford from 1705 to 1719; he was town clerk from 1707 to 1718 and he was moderator from 1712 to 1714. [7]

ii. Isaac Barron was born on 1 December 1671 . He died on 16 September 1739 in Chelmsford. He married Sarah Goodwin.

iii. Mary Barron was born on 1 March 1673.

iv. Samuel Barron was born on 3 May 1679 in Chelmsford. He died on 14 November 1751 and was buried on 1 November 1751, age 72, in Chelmsford. [2] He married Mary Stearns of Billerica on 28 May 1705 in Chelmsford. [2] She died on 25 June 1743 in Chelmsford. [2]

v. Elias Barron was born on 26 March 1682

vi. William Barron was born on 19 November 1685.

vii. Joseph Barron was born on 27 August 1688.
