SAMUEL STICKNEY (1701–1783), son of Samuel Stickney and Mary Haseltine
ELIZABETH HARDY (1707–1737), daughter of Jacob Hardy and Sarah Clark
Bradford was part of Rowley until 1672. In 1897 the eastern part was annexed by Groveland; the western part was annexed by Haverhill.
Samuel, the son of Samuel and Mary was born on 24 August 1701 in Bradford, Essex County, Massachusetts. [1] He died on 29 December 1783, age 81, in Bradford. [1] He married first Elizabeth Hardy on 22 April 1729 in Bradford.[1] He married second Susannah Johnson on 3 June 1742 in Bradford. [1] She was born about 1714. Susannah, the wife of Samuel, died on 28 July 1776, age 62, in Bradford. [1]
Elizabeth, the daughter of Jacob and Sarah Hardy, was born on 11 March 1707 in Bradford. [1] Elizabeth, the wife of Samuel died on 11 May 1737 in Bradford. [1]Children of Samuel Stickney and Elizabeth Hardy: Births recorded in Bradford as the children of Samuel and Elizabeth. [1]
i. Elizabeth Stickney was born on 28 July 1730. She died before 28 September 1798. She married Josiah Hills on 5 November 1751 in Bradford. [1] Josiah, the son of Josiah and Mary (Bartlett) Hills, was born on 13 March 1723 in Newbury. [2] He died there on 20 March 1801, age 77. [2]
Josiah Hills, yeoman of Newbury, made his will on 28 September 1798; it was proved on 7 May 1801. He named his eldest son Thomas; sons Josiah and Amos; daughters Hannah, Dolly, Mary, and Sarah. [Ref]
ii. Abigail Stickney was born on 4 January 1731/2.
iii. Hannah Stickney was born on 20 September 1733.
iv. Sarah Stickney was born on 6 July 1735. She married Jedidiah Barker.
v. Dorothy Stickney was born on 20 April 1737. She is probably the Dorothy who married John More on 17 May 1758 in Bradford. [1]
