JOHN STEARNS (c. 1630–1669), son of Isaac Stearns and Mary Barker

MARY LOTHROP (1640–aft. 1735), daughter of Thomas Lothrop and Sarah Learned

John, the son of Isaac and Mary (Barker) Stearns was born say 1630 in Watertown. [1] He died on 5 March 1668/9 in Billerica. [2] He married first Sarah, the daughter of Isaac and Sarah (Thurston) Mixer of Watertown. [3][4] Sarah was born say 1636. She died on 18 June 1656 in Billerica. [2] She was the second European who died in Billerica. [4] John married second Mary Lothrop in December 1656 in Barnstable. [2][3] Mary was the daughter of Thomas Lothrop. [1]

Mary, the daughter of Thomas Lothrop, was born on 4 October 1640 in Barnstable. [5] Bond says that Mary Lothrop was living in 1735, "very aged." [6] She married second Lieutenant William French on 6 May 1669 in Billerica. [2][7] William French was born about 1607. [7] He died on 20 November 1681, age 77 or 78, in Billerica. [2] He married first Elizabeth ___, if he did not have an earlier wife. She died on 31 March 1668 in Billerica. [2] Mary married third Isaac Mixer, the brother of her first husband's first wife, on 29 June 1687 in Billerica. [3][4] Isaac was born about 1630. [3] He died on 22 or 27 November 1716 in Watertown or Waltham. [3][8] He married first Mary, the daughter of John Coolidge, on 19 September 1655 in Watertown. [3][9] He married second Rebecca, the daughter of Edward Garfield, on 10 January 1660/1 in Watertown. [3][9] She died on 16 March 1682 in Watertown. [3]

Mary's mother was a sister of Isaac Learned. [4]

In his will of 1655, Isaac Mixer referred to his daughter Sarah as the wife of John Sternes. [1]

John Stearns was one of the first settlers of Billerica. [6]

William French came to New England on the Defence in 1635. He was a tailor of Cambridge and Billerica. He was a deputy from Billerica to the Massachusetts Bay General Court in 1660, 1663, and 1664. [7]

William French made his will on 5 June 1679; it was proved on 20 December 1681. The inventory of Lieutenant William French, who died on 20 November 1681, was taken on 6 December 1681 and totaled £231-12-10 against debts of 25 pounds. It was presented by Mary French, executrix of the estate of her late husband on 8 December 1681. [7]

Isaac Mixer of Watertown made his will on 2 July 1715. He mentioned his wife Mary Mixer and left her "what the law allow her." On 25 December 1716 Mary Mixer, relict of Mr. Isaac Mixer signed a receipt for her 43 pounds from [her stepson] Isaac Mixer as her share of her husband's estate. She acknowledged this in court on 9 January 1716/7. [10]
