JOSEPH KILBOURNE (1683–1723), son of Joseph Kilbourne and Mary Trumble
MARY CLARK (1683–1771), daughter of John Clark and Mary Poore
Joseph is buried in the Rowley Burial Ground. The inscription on his gravestone says: [3]
HERE LIES Ye BODY OF JOSEPH KILBURN WHO DIED MARCH Ye 6 1723 IN Ye 40th YEAR OF HIS AGE.
Mary the daughter of John and Mary Clark, was born on 8 February 1683 in Rowley. [1][4] She married second Samuel Kelly on 5 December 1727 in Rowley. [1][2] She died on 3 November 1771, age 87. [2]
Joseph died intestate. Mary Kilbourne, the widow of Joseph of Rowley posted bond on his estate on 11 February 1723. Inventory was presented on 14 January 1723/4. On 28 March 1740 the court ordered that the widow's third be set out for Mary Kilbourne alias Kelly. On 21 April 1741, the remaining 342 pounds was divided among Joseph (the eldest son, who received a double portion), Ebenezer, Sarah Chapman, Elizabeth Barker, Mary Dresser, and Joanna Todd. It was determined that it was not practical to divide Joseph's real estate. On 27 April 1746, his son Joseph posted a bond obliging him to make payments to his brother Ebenezer, Edward Chapman in right of his wife Sarah, James Barker in right of his wife Elizabeth, David Dresser in right of his wife Mary, and Jeremiah Todd, in right of his wife Joanna.
