JOHN HILL (c. 1630–1718), son of John Hill and Frances Unknown
HANNAH UNKNOWN (d. 1690)
John Hill was born about 1630, probably in England. [1] He died on 23 January 1717/8. [1] He married first Hannah ___ about 1653. [1] He married second Elizabeth, the widow of Benjamen Bullard of Sherborn. [1] She died on 1 December 1719. [1]
Hannah, the wife of John, died in November 1690 in Sherborn. [1][2]
John settled in that part of Medfield that became Sherborn. [1]
John made his will on 10 December 1717. He mentioned his son-in-law James Adams and his daughter Abigail, his wife; his eldest son Samuel; his sons Ebenezer, John, and Eleazar Hill; he heirs of his daughter Abigail Leland; his daughter Mary Ellis; the heirs of his daughters Hannah and Sarah. He named Samuel Hill and his wife's son Ebenezer Bullard his executors. [1]
Children of John Hill and Hannah Unknown:
i. Samuel Hill was born about 1654. [1] He died on 24 March 1723. [1] He married Hannah Twitchell on 4 November 1679.
Samuel was a farmer in the part of Medfield that became Medway. [1] He was deacon of the church for many years. [1]
ii. Ebenezer Hill was born about 1656. [1] He died in the autumn of 1734. [1] He married Mary, the daughter of Joseph and Lydia (Rogers) White of Mendon. [1]
Ebenezer lived in the part of Sherborn that became Holliston. [1]
iii. Abigail Hill was born on 2 February 1657/8 in Medfield. [3] She died on 5 October 1689 in Sherborn. She married Hopestill Leland.
iv. John Hill was born on 14 March 1660/1 in Medfield. [3] He died on 23 May 1738. [1] He married Hannah Rockwood about 1693. [1] Hannah, the daughter of Deacon Samuel an Hannah (Ellis) Rockwood, was born on 1 October 1673 and died on 7 February 1729/30. [1]
John was a husbandman of Sherborn. [1]
v. Mary Hill was born on 28 October 1662 in Medfield. [3] She died on 3 March 1729. [1] She married John Ellis of the part of Medfield that became Medway on 7 April 1698. [1] He was born on 26 April 1646 and died on 14 November 1716. [1]
vi. Eleazar Hill was born on 29 June 1664 in Medfield. [3] He died in 1725. [1] He married first [his first cousin] Sarah Breck about 1688. Sarah, the daughter of Thomas and Mary (Hill) Breck of Sherborn, was born in 1661 and died on 6 July 1699. [1] Eleazar married second Rebecca (Clark) Richardson on 20 March 1702/3. [1] Rebecca, the daughter of Joseph and Alice (Pepper) Clark and widow of John Richardson of Medfield, was born on 16 August 1660 and died on 17 February 1738/9. [1]
Eleazar was a husbandman of Sherborn. [1]
vii. Johnson Hill was born on 22 June 1666 in Medfield. [3] There is no further record of him. [1]
viii. Hannah Hill was born about 1668. She died on 2 June 1691. [1] She married Daniel Pond, Jr. of Wrentham on 30 September 1686. [1] He died after 1734. [1]
ix. Sarah Hill was born about 1670. She married John Perry, Jr. of Sherborn on 28 July 1691. [1] He was born on 24 December 1667. [1]

x. Abigail Hill was born on 10 June 1695. [1] She died on 17 September 1736. [1] She married John Adams of Sherborn on 1 January 1712/3. [1] He was born on 7 July 1693 and died on 14 January 1727/8. [1]
