JAMES BARKER (1686–1764), son of Nathaniel Barker and Mary Kilbourne

SARAH WICOM (1694–1750), daughter of Daniel Wicom and Sarah Hazen


James, the son of Nathaniel and Mary Barker, was born on 14 October 1686 in Rowley, Essex County, Massachusetts. [1] He died on 16 March 1764 in Rowley. [1] He married first Sarah Wicom on 7 May 1711 in Rowley. [1] He married second the widow Mary Jewitt on 10 April 1753 in Rowley. [1] Mary, the widow of James, died "at her daughter Dickinson's," on 10 October 1764, age 79. [1]

Sarah, the daughter of Daniel and Sarah Wicom, was born on 27 July 1694 in Rowley. [1] The unnamed wife of James died on 8 October 1750 in Rowley. [1]

James Barker, cordwainer of Rowley, made his will on 9 April 1763; it was proved on 9 April 1764. He left his son James Barker his house, barn, and land and named him his sole executor. He left land to his son Daniel and money to his daughters Sarah Kesar and Elizabeth Dresser. He did not mention his wife, who was still alive. [2]

Children of James Barker and Sarah Wicom:

i. James Barker was born on 21 April 1712 in Rowley. [1] He married Elizabeth Kilbourne.

ii. Sarah Barker was born on 11 September 1713 in Rowley. [1] She married Moses Kesar on 20 May 1735 in Rowley. [1] She died on 6 June 1776 in Shirley, Middlesex county, Massachusetts. [3][4] Moses, son of Timothy and Sarah (Hodgkin) Keezer, born on 17 December 1711 in Haverhill, Essex county, Massachusetts. [5] Moses Kezor died on 7 May 1778, age 67, in Shirley. Moses and Sarah are buried in the Center Cemetery in Shirley. [4]

iii. Elizabeth Barker was born on 5 February 1715-16 in Rowley. [1] She married Unknown Dresser.

iv. Daniel Barker was born on 4 May 1718 in Rowley. [1].

v. Jonathan Barker was born on 16 May 1720 in Rowley. [1] He apparently died before 9 April 1763.
