Martha Vose (1680–after 1717), daughter of Edward Vose and Abigail Sharp


Jonathan, the son of Nathaniel Wyatt was born on 27 May 1677 in Dorchester.[1][2] He was baptized on 19 October 1684 in Dorchester. [3] He died after 8 December 1717, when his last child was born. He married Martha Vose. [4]

Martha, the daughter of Edward Vose, was born on 27 August 1680 in Milton, Massachusetts. [5] She died after 8 December 1717, when her last child was born.

Martha’s father referred to her as Martha Wyatt in his will of 10 September 1683. [4]

Martha was admitted to full communion in the Milton church in 1703/4. [6]

Jonathan was referred to as being of Westerly in 1706 and 1707.

Jonathan was baptized as an adult, along with his son Jonathan, on 25 May 1707 in Stonington. [7]

i. Jemima Wyatt was baptized on 3 or 5 August 1706. [7] She probably died before 23 March 1777 when she was not mentioned in her brother Elijah’s will.

On 5 Auguts 1706, Manasseh Minor wrote, "Jonathan wiats Child baptized." [8]

Jonathan is referred to as of Westerly in Jemima's baptism record. [7]

ii. Jonathan Wyatt was born on 19 March 1706 in Stonington. [9] He was baptized on 25 May 1707 in Stonington. He died between 8 and 25 September 1739.

Jonathan Wyatt, house carpenter of Stonington, “being very sick and weak,” made his will on 8 September 1739, leaving all of his possessions to his brother Elijah. Witnesses testified on 25 September 1739 and an inventory, amounting to 53 pounds, was signed by Elijah on 9 October 1739. [10]

iii. Elijah Wyatt was born on 23 April 1709 in Stonington. [9]He was baptized on 22 May 1709 in Stonington. [9] He died between 23 March and 29 April 1777.

On 22 May 1709 Manasseh Minor wrote "Wiats Child was baptized." [8]

Elijah Wyatt of Stonington made his will on 23 March 1777. He mentioned his sisters Abigail Palmer and Mary Hinckley; his brother William Palmer; his nephews William Palmer, Jonathan Wyatt Palmer and Abel Hinckley; his nieces Martha Darrow and Vose Hinckley; William Palmer’s daughter Phebe; his kinswoman Joanna Frink; Bathsheba Noyes[?]; Mary Fitch[?], Elijah Hinckley; Wiatt Hinckley; Vose Hinckley; Lavina Palmer; Timothy Babcock’s daughter Lois of Plainfield, Stephen Brown’s daughters Lucy and Abigail Brown; Hannah Palmer of Plainfield; Nathan Stewart. He named Walter Palmer the third his executor. Witnesses testified on 2 April 1777 and inventory was taken on 29 April 1777. [10]
 
iv. Abigail Wyatt was baptized on 6 May 1711. She died after 23 March 1777. She married William Palmer.

v. Martha Wyatt was baptized on 29 November 1713. She probably died by 23 March 1777, when she was not mentioned in her brother Elijah’s will.

vi. Mary Wyatt was born on 8 December 1717 in Stonington. [9][11] She was baptized on 2 March 1717/8 . She died on 9 November 1763. [11] She married Samuel Hinckley as his second wife on 30 December 1736 in Stonington. [7][9][11][12] Samuel, the son of Samuel and Martha (Lothrop) Hinckley, was born on 4 March 1706 in Barnstable. [4][11] He died on 9 November 1763. [4][11] He married first Zerviah Breed. [11] Zerviah was the daughter of John and Mercy (Palmer) Breed. [11][12] He was the grandson of Gershom Palmer. She died 14 June 1731. [11] He married third Mary Bacon on 13 December 1761. [4]

Mary and her children are mentioned in the 23 March 1777 will of her brother Elijah.
