WILLIAM COALE
ELIZABETH THOMAS, daugher of Philip Thomas
William Coale died between 26 October 1678 and 16 February 1678/9. He married first Hester Unknown. He married second Hannah Unknown. He married third Elizabeth Unknown.
William Coale of Anne Arundel County, being "sick and weak," made his will on 26 October 1678. Probate occurred on 16 February 1678/[9?] He heirs were his wife Elizabeth, his son William, wife of his son Hester, William, son of his second wife Hannah, Samuel and Philip, sons of his wife Elizabeth and his daughter Elizabeth (probably the daughter of Elizabeth but not explicitely stated as such). He left his heirs land, tobacco, livestock, and enslaved people. He mentions money from his estate in England. His sons, except for the first William, are said to be under 21 and his daughter Elizabeth is said to be under 16. [w][c]

i. Elizabeth Coale was born after 1662. She married Nathan Smith.
ii. Philip Coale was born after 1651.
Nathan Smith asked his brother Philip Coale to be an overseer in his will of 23 November 1710. Philip is mentioned in the 9 September 1674 will of his grandfather Philip Thomas.
