THOMAS BURPEE (b. c. 1614)
SARAH KELLY (1640–1713), daughter of John Kelly
Thomas Burpee was born about 1614. He died on 1 June 1701. [1] He married first Martha, the widow of Anthony Sadler. [1] Martha, the daughter of John and Martha Cheney, was born about 1629 in England and was buried on 24 January 1658. [1] Thomas married second Sarah, the daughter of John Kelly of Newbury. [1]
Sarah Kelly was born on 12 February 1640 in Newbury. [1] She died on 25 December 1713. [1]
Thomas deposed that he was about 58 in 1672. [1]
Thomas lived in Rowley. [1] He was a freeman on 30 March 1647. [1]
Children of Thomas Burpee and Martha Cheney:
i. Hannah Burpee was born in March 1655. [1] She probably married ___ Higgens. [1]
ii. John Burpee was born on 16 November 1656 and buried on 15 July 1657. [1]
iii. Sarah Burpee was born on 21 May 1658 and buried on 2 February 1660. [1]
Children of Thomas Burpee and Sarah Kelly:
iv. Sarah Burpee was born about 1661. She died on 18 November 1729 in Bradford. She married Samuel Spofford.
v. Thomas Burpee was born on 25 December 1663. [1] He married Hester Hopkinson on 3 December 1690. [1] Hester, the daughter of Jonathan and Hester (Clarke) Hopkinson, was born on 9 April 1667 and died on 30 October 1722. [1]
vi. Mary Burpee was baptized on 24 October 1675. She died on 13 June 1732. [1] She married Samuel Dresser on 13 May 1700. [1] Samuel, the son of Samuel Dresser, was born on 23 August 1673 and died on 13 June 1732. [1] He married second the widow Sarah Moulton of Newbury. [1]
