Thomas, the son of Edmond and Mary Lewis, was born about 1632 in England. He died on 26 April 1709 in Bristol, age abut 76. [1] He married Hannah Baker on 11 November 1659 in Lynn or Bristol. [1][2][3][4, 2: 231]

Hannah, the wife of Thomas, was the daughter of Edward and Joan Baker. [1][5] She was born about 1638. [5] She died on 17 January 1717 in Bristol. [1][2]

Thomas moved to Northampton, Massachusetts in 1661/2. [1] He sold a four-acre lot there in 1667. [1] He was chosen to assist in building a mill on 27 August 1666. [1]

Thomas was admitted an inhabitant of Swansea on 1 December 1669 and was granted 12 acres. [1] He was chosen a selectman on 21 May 1672. [1]

Thomas was probably in Bristol, Rhode Island in 1681. [1] He was taxed in Mendon, Massachusetts in 1691, 1692 and 1693. [1] He was chosen selectman on 1 May 1693, but declined to serve. [1]

Between 1692 and 1701 Thomas sold land in Bristol. [1]

Hannah Lewis, executrix, posted bond on the estate of Thomas Lewis, late of Bristol, on 1 June 1709. The inventory of his estate was taken on 31 June 1709 and it amounted to about 87 pounds. Hannah presented it on 6 July 1709. [6]

i. Edward Lewis was born on 28 (5) 1660 in Lynn. [vrml, 1: 237] He died on 15 July 1662 in Northampton. [5]

ii. Hannah Lewis was born about 1662 in Lynn. [5] She married George Mowry on 22 January 1683 in Bristol. [2]

iii Mary Lewis was born in 1663. [5] She died on 26 March 1686 in Bristol. [2]

iv. Esther Lewis was born in 1665. [5] She married Jeremiah Finney on 7 January 1684 in Bristol. [2]

v. Thomas Lewis was born on 28 September 1666 in Northampton. [5] He died on 11 January 1666/7 in Northampton. [5]

vi. Thomas Lewis was born on 29 April 1668 in Lynn. [3][vrml, 1: 243] He married Elizabeth Brooks of Woburn on 16 April 1689 in Swansea. [3][7, 25]

vii. Elizabeth Lewis was born on 7 December 1669 in Swansea. [7, 4]

viii. Persis Lewis was born on 15 January 1671 in Swansea. [7, 16]

ix. Samuel Lewis was born on 23 April 1673 in Swansea. [5]

x. Hepsibah Lewis was born on 15 November 1674 in Swansea. [7, 7] She died on 11 November 1753 in Bristol. [8] She married James Thurber on 25 December 1706 in Bristol. [2] James, the son of Thomas Thurber, was born on 4 August 1680 in Swansea and died on 10 June 1747 in Bristol. [8]

At a 15 June 1747 meeting of the Bristol town council, Captain Jeremiah Finney was asked to "take some proper care about the widow Hephzibeth Thurber for her relief & that he lay his account before the Town Council ... " [8]

xi. Joseph Lewis was born on 13 May 1677 in Swansea. He died on 27 May 1742. He married Elizabeth Birge.

xii. Deborah Lewis was born on 19 March 1679 in Swansea. [7, 3]
