Philip Brown was born on —: 10m: 1646 [1647 or 1648?] in Salisbury. [1] He died on 21 July 1729 in Salisbury. [2] He married Mary Buswell on 24: 4m: 1669 in Salisbury. [3]

Mary was born on 29: 6m: 1645 in Salisbury. [4] Mary, the wife of Philip, died on 27: 9: 1683 in Salisbury. [2]

Mary's father Isaac Buswell refers to Mary's husband Philip Brown as his son-in-law in his will of 9 April 1683. [5]

Philip was a tailor in Salisbury. [6]

Philip wrote his will on 30 March 1726. He said that he was healthy. He named his deceased daughter Susanna Griffen; his daughter Mary, the wife of John Ring; his daughter Abigail, the wife of Joseph French; his daughter Sarah; his son George; his daughter Hannah, the wife of John Thorn. He named George his executor and his will was proved on 5 February 1682. [7]

i. Susanna Browne was born on 8: 1m: 1670/1 in Salisbury. [1] She married John Griffen after 17 September 1695 (intention) in Salisbury. [3]

ii. Mary Browne was born on 23: 12m: 1671 in Salisbury. [1] She died there on 14 May 1672. [2]

iii. Unknown Son Browne was born on 1 April 1673 in Salisbury and died there two days later. [1][2]

iv. Abigail Browne was born on 4 June 1675 in Salisbury. She married Joseph French.

v. Sarah Browne was born on 18 March 1677/8 in Salisbury. [1]

vi. George Browne was born on 1 July 1680 in Salisbury. [1] He died there on 6 January 1753. [2] He married Hannah Eastman after 10 April 1705 (intention) in Salisbury. [3]

vii. Phebe Browne was born on 2: 8m: 1681 in Salisbury. [1] She died there on 4 December 1700. [2]

viii. Hannah Browne was born on 5 February 1682 in Salisbury. [1] Hannah, the wife of James Thorn died "suddenly" on 16 March 1740/1 in Salisbury. [8] She married James Thorn on 12 January 1702/3 in Salisbury. [3]
