Isaac Buswell was born say 1592. [1] Isaac, Sr. died on 8 July 1683 in Salisbury. [2] He married first Elizabeth Unknown. [1] She was born say 1600 and was buried on 20 April 1631 in Husbands Bosworth, co.Leicester. [1] Isaac married second Margaret Unknown. She was buried on 29: 7m: 1642 in Salisbury. [2] Isaac married third Susanna Unknown. [1]

Susanna was born say 1620. [1] Susanna, the wife of Isaac Sr., died on 21 March 1676/7 in Salisbury. [2]

Rebecca Smith, the wife of Richard Smith of Wethersfield, was Isaac's sister. [1]

John Buswell, yeoman and sheep farmer possibly married first Elizabeth Hall. He married second Mary Botham, daughter of John Botham, a wealthy draper in Derby.

Roger Buswell, son of John and Elizabeth, was born say 1547. He was buried in Husbands Bosworth, co. Leicester on 14 June 1609. He married in say 1570 Margaret Unknown. Margarat was born say 1550. She was buried on 8 March 1612/3 in Husbands Bosworth.

Isaac Buswell of Salisbury

Isaac was a weaver. [1] He settled in Salisbury by 1640 and was a freeman on 9 October 1640.

Isaac was constable of Salisbury on 31: 1m: 1646. He was clerk of the market in Salisbury on 9: 2m: 1650. [3]

Isaac was on the grand jury in 1648, twice in 1651, in 1654, 1662, 1664, 1666 and twice in 1669. He was on the trial jury in 1650, 1664 and 1663. [4]

Isaac wrote his will 9 April 1683. He mentioned Sarah, the daughter of his son William; his son-in-law John Gill, husband to his daughter Phebe; his son Samuel; his son Philip Brown, husband to his daughter Mary; the children of his son Isaac; his son William. He named his grandchild Isaac, the son of his son Samuel to be his executor. [5]

Children of Isaac Buswell and Elizabeth Unknown:

i. Phebe Buswell was baptized on 29 February 1623/4 in Husbands Bosworth. [1] She married John Gill on 2 May 1645 in Salisbury. [6]

ii. Captain William Buswell was baptized on 19 February 1625/6 in Husbands Bosworth. [1] He died on 15 or 21 June 1699, age 78, in Salisbury. [2] Sarah, the widow of Captain William Buswell, died on 5 March 1708 in Salisbury. [2] Sarah is probably Sarah Stacey.

iii. Samuel Buswell was baptized on 17 August 1628 in Husbands Bosworth. [1] He married Sarah Keyes on 8 July 1656. [6]

iv. Gabriel Buswell was baptized on 3 April 1631 in Husbands Bosworth. [1] He was buried there in May 1631. [1]

Children of Isaac and Susanna Unknown:

i. Mary Buswell was born on 29: 6m: 1645 in Salisbury. She died on 27: 9m: 1683 in Salisbury. She married Philip Browne.

ii. Isaac Buswell was born on 29: 5m: 1650 in Salisbury. [7] He married Susanna Unknown. She married second William Fuller, Jr. of Hampton on 22: 9m. 1680 in Hampton. [8]

Administration of the estate of Isaac Buswell, Jr. was granted to his widow Susanna on 8 April 1679. [9]

At the 10 April 1667 court, Susanna, the wife of Isaac, Jr. was convicted of burglary and lying and ordered to pay William Buswell six shillings and to his in the meeting house in lecture time with a paper pinned to her head with the words (in capital letters): "For burglary and lying." [10]

About January 1677 Susanna Buswell was fined for excessive drinking. [11]
