Joseph, the son of Nathaniel and Hannah (Crafts) Wilson, was born on 30 or 31 January 1655/6 in Roxbury, Massachusetts. [1] He died between 30 September 1724 and 26 April 1725.
Deliverance, the daughter of John Jackson and his second wife Margaret, was born on 5 November 1657; her birth was recorded in Newton and Cambridge in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. [2][3] the wife of Joseph, died on 18 March or May 1718 in Newton. [2]
Joseph Wilson of Newton made his will on 30 September 1724. He left his eldest daughter Sarah Trowbridge ten pounds; his daughter Hannah Turner 15 pounds; his daughter Deliverance Squire ten pounds; his daughter Margaret Petty ten pounds; his daughter Margaret Wilson fifty pounds as her portion and for her services since her mother's decease; his daughter Experience Wilson ten pounds; his daughter Elizabeth Ward ten pounds. He left Ebenezer Smith, the son of his daughter Abigail, and James Greenwood, the son of his daughter Thankful, each five pounds. He left his real estate to his son Josiah Wilson, whom he named his executor. His will was witnessed by Richard Ward, Elizabeth Wilson, and James Ward. Inventory of his personal estate was taken on 26 April 1725. It included apparel, books, household goods, and two cows and amounted to £19-25-06. Josiah presented the will for probate, the witnesses testified, and Josiah and Richard Ward—both of Newton—posted bond on 30 April 1725. [4]

i. Sarah Wilson was probably born about 1681. She married first John Trowbridge. [5] John, the son of Deacon James Trowbridge and his wife Margaret Atherton and grandson of Thomas Trowbridge and Major General Humphrey Atherton, was born on 22 May 1664 in Dorchester and died on 2 May 1737 in Newton. [5] Sarah married second Moses Haven of Framingham on 15 November 1739. [5]
Sarah’s birth record is undated, but there is an annotation that she was born after the child born on 31 October 1704. [2] This is at odds with her father calling her his eldest daughter in his will.
Mr. John Trowbridge settled in Newton where he managed his farm of about 100 acres and was selectman for two years. [5]
ii. Abigail Wilson [birth recorded, but no date] was probably born about 1683. Abigail, the wife of Ebenezer, died on 16 November 1705 in Rehoboth. [6] She married Ebenezer Smith of Rehoboth on 22 May 1703 in Rehoboth (but recorded in Newton). [2] Ebenezer might be the son of Daniel who was born on 23 July 1676 in Rehoboth. [6]. He died on 12 February 1710/1 in Rehoboth. [6]
iii. Hannah Wilson was born on 10 June 1685. She married Hezekiah Turner on 29 March 1711 in Charlestown. [2]
iv. Deliverance Wilson was born on 11 October 1687. She died on 17 April 1726. She married Daniel Squire.
v. Margaret Wilson was born on 27 February 1689. She married Samuel Petty on 5 November 1712 in Watertown. [2]
vi. Thankful Wilson was born on 24 or 25 March 1691/2. She died, presumably of complications of childbirth, on 3 or 4 February 1713/4 in Newton. She married James Greenwood on 13 April 1713/4 in Newton.
According to the Newton records, James Greenwood married ___ on 13 April 1713. James Greenwood the , son of James and Thankful, was born on 27 January 1713/4 in Newton. Thankful, the wife of James, died on 3 or 4 February 1713/4 in Newton. [2]
vii. Mary Wilson was born on 24 January or June 1694. She was apparently unmarried on 30 September 1724.
viii. Experience Wilson was born on 10 November 1696. She married William Williams on 27 September 1721 in Newton. [2] William, the son of Captain Isaac Williams and his wife Elizabeth (Betty) Hyde and the grandson of Sergeant Jonathan and Mary (French) Hyde, was born on 19 September 1690 in Newton. [7]
ix. Elizabeth Wilson was born on 30 May 1703. She married William Ward on 26 November 1722 in Newton. [2] William—the nephew of Elizabeth's sister Sarah's husband—was the son of Richard Ward and his wife Thankful Trowbridge, the daughter of Deacon James and Margaret (Atherton) Trowbridge. [8] he was born on 12 September 1699 in Newton. [2] Elizabeth married second Samuel Truesdale as his second wife. [8]
x. Josiah Wilson was born on 31 October 1704. He might be the Josiah of Hopkinton who married Hannah Clayes on 22 April 1735 in Framingham. [9] Hannah is probably the daughter of James and Mary Clayes, born on 4 April 1717 in Framingham. [9]
