Torrey [1] found two pertinent records in the Aspinwall Notarial Records. In the first, dated 19 November 1647, Nathaniel Wilson of Roxbury gave John Wilson of Halifax, Yorkshire, clothworker, the power of attorney to ask the executor of the estate of of Nathaniel Holgate of Halifax about a legacy that had been given him. In the second, dated 19 August 1648, by a deed of that date, Nathaniel Wilson of Roxbury transferred to Joseph Wood of Ovenden [a township in Halifax], Yorkshire, his right to a messuage in Ovenden.
