Richard Goodale (bp. 1594–1666)
Dorothy Unknown (d. 1665)
Richard was baptized on 29 July 1594 in Downham Market, co. Norfolk. [1][2] He died on 16 September 1666 in Salisbury. [2] He married Dorothy ___ about 1615. [1][2]
Dorothy, the widow of Richard, died on 27: 11m: 1664 [January 1664/5] in Salisbury. [3]
There is no evidence that Dorothy is Dorothy Witrents. [1]
Richard's father left Richard—the oldest son of his first wife—an annuity of six pounds and ten pounds at age 35 in his will of 24/25 June 1625. [1]
Richard settled in Salisbury by 1638, bringing his wife and two children. [2] He was an original grantee and commoner, referred to as a planter and a turner. [2] He was a grand juror at the 13 (2) 1652 and 11 (2) 1654 quarterly courts in Salisbury. [4]
Richard made his will on 7 June 1666; it was proved on 9 October 1666. He left his granddaughter Hubbard a cow named Primrose and made a bequest to his former servant Cornelius Conner. He left the rest of the estate between his son Richard and daughter Allen. [2]
At the time of his death, it appears that he had gone to live with his daughter Ann, as he owed William Allen for his subsistence. [2]
Richard's estate was divided between his son Richard and William Allen on 4 December 1660. [2]
