Ann Goodale (c. 1618–1678), daughter of Richard Goodale and Dorothy Unknown
William Allen, Sr. died on 18 June 1686 in Salisbury. [1] He married first Ann Goodale. [2] He married second Alice, the widow of John Roper and John Dickson. [3] She died on 1 April 1687 in Salisbury. [1]
Ann was the daughter of Richard Goodale of Salisbury. [2][4] She was born about 1618. Ann, the wife of William, Sr. died "abt. ye last of May" 1678 in Salisbury. [1]
Richard Goodale of Boston, mariner, and William Allen of Salisbury, carpenter, divided the estate that their father Richard Goodale—left to his son Richard and daughter Ann, wife of William Allen, in his will of 7 June 1666—on 4 December 1666. [5]

ii. Hannah Allen was born on 17: 4m: [June] 1642. She died on 22 December 1729. She married Cornet Peter Ayer.
iii. Mary Allen was born on 29: 5m: [July 1644]. She married George Hewes. [3]
George was a mariner of Salisbury. [3]
iv. Martha Allen was born in 1646. She married Richard Hubbard. [3][6]
Richard was a blacksmith in Salisbury. [6]
Martha's grandfather Richard Goodale left his granddaughter Hubbard a cow named Primrose in his will of 7 June 1666. [7]
v. Lieutenant John Allen was born on 9: 8m: [October] 1646. He died "suddenly" on 27 February 1696/7 in Salisbury. [1] He married the widow Mary Andrews on 24 or about 30 August 1674 in Salisbury. [1] Mary was the daughter of Major Robert and Sarah (Sanders) Pike. [3][8] She was born on 5 August 1647 in Salisbury. [8] She died on 28 April 1695 in Salisbury. [1] She married first Jedediah Andrews. [2][3][8] He died on 12 July 1673 in Salisbury. [8]
John was a mariner and planter. [3]
John Allen of Salisbury made his will on 30 June 1691. He divided most of his estate between his wife and three daughters and named his brothers William and Jeremy his heirs. His witnesses testified on 7 April 1697. On 14 April 1697 his brothers William and Jeremiah and his daughter petitioned the court, saying that John's wife had since died and one of the daughters was crippled. [9]
vi. Ensign William Allen was born on 2: 8m: [October] 1650. He died before 31 May 1700. He married Mary Harris on 5 July 1674 in Salisbury. [1] Mary was the daughter of John Harris of Rowley. [2] She died on 23 January 1720/1 in Greenland, New Hampshire. [3]
Ensign William Allen of Salisbury died intestate. Inventory on his estate was taken on 31 May 1700. His widow Mary Allen and Stillson Allen posted bond on 3 June 1700. [9]
vii. Benjamin Allen was born in 1652. He died on 3 September 1723 in Rehoboth. [3] He married the widow Rachel Wheeler on 3 September 1686 in Salisbury. [1] Rachel was the widow of Henry Wheeler. [3] She was buried on 5 May 1694 in Rehoboth. [3] He married second Hopestill Leonard of Rehoboth on 13 November 1695. [3] She died in August 1729 in Rehoboth. [3]
Benjamin was a mariner, wheelwright, and planter. [3]
viii. Captain Joseph Allen was born on 13: 8m: [October] 1653. He died on 6 October 1724. [3] He married first Rachel Griggs of Gloucester on 29 July 1680. [3] She died on 26 April 1684. [3] He married second Rose Howard of Cape Ann on 20 November 1684. [3] She died on 27 October 1724. [3]
Joseph was a blacksmith and yeoman. [3]
ix. Richard Allen was born on 8: 9m: [November] 1655. Richard, the son of William, Sr., died on 8 June 1678 in Salisbury. [1]
Martha, the wife of Richard Hubbard of Salisbury, testified that she was with her brother Richard just before he died in the summer of 1678. She said she heard him say that he bequeathed the better part of his estate to his sister Mary Hewes and what was left to his brothers Joseph and Jeremiah. A chest with its contents was at his brother Peter Ayer's house in Haverhill and he bequeathed the contents to Peter's son Samuel. Mary Hewes and Jeremiah Allen deposed the same. [10, 7: 104]
Inventory on Richard's estate was taken on 8 July 1678 and amounted to £117-03-00. It was attested to by Joseph Allen on 8 October 1678 and administration was granted to his brother Joseph Allen the same day. Joseph and Jeremy posted bond. [11]
x. Ruth Allen was born on 19: 12m: 1657 [February 1657/8]. She probably died young. [3]
xi. Lieutenant Jeremiah (Jeremy) Allen was born on 17: 12m: 1658 [February 1658/9]. He died on 20 July 1738 in Salisbury. [1] He married first Ann Bradbury between 1686 and 1689. [1] She was probably the daughter of Thomas Bradbury and Mary Perkins, born on 16 April 1656. [1][2] She died on 26 January 1732/3 in Salisbury. [1] He married second Hannah Walker on 20 November 1735. [3] She died on 12 October 1753. [3]
Jeremiah Allen, yeoman of Salisbury made his will on 14 February 1737/8. He mentions his wife Hannah. [9]
