David Fuller (1713–1774), son of John Fuller and Phebe Symonds
Hannah Fuller (1725–1809), daughter of Stephen Fuller and Hannah Moulton
David, the son of John and Phebe (Symonds) Fuller, was born on 9 August 1713 in Salem, Essex County, Massachusetts. [1] David Fuller, Sr. died on 26 April 1774 in Windham, Windham County, Connecticut and is buried in the Litchfield Cemetery in Hampton, Windham County. [2][3] David married Hannah Fuller on 17 May 1741 in Windham. [2]
Hannah, the daughter of Stephen and Hannah (Moulton) Fuller, was born on 20 October 1725 in Windham. [2] Hannah, the daughter of Stephen, was baptized on 1[!] October 1725 in Hampton. [4] According to her gravestone, Mrs. Hannah Denison, once the wife of David Fuller, died on 24 July 1809, age 83, and is buried in the Litchfield Cemetery. [3] She married second Nathan Denison on 16 March 1778 in Windham. [2] Nathan, the son of Joseph Denison, was born on 20 February 1715/6 in Stonington, New London County, Connecticut. He died on 24 July 1809, probably in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania. [5] He married first Ann Cary on 1 April 1736 in Windham. [2] She died on 6 May 1776, age 67. [5]
Nathan Denison is buried in the Forty Fort Cemetery in Forty Fort, Luzerne County, Pennsylvania; his first wife is buried in the Windham Center Cemetery. [5]
Hannah's father, Stephen Fuller of Windham, refers to his daughters by their married names, including Hannah Fuller, in his will of 17 April 1767.
John Fuller, David’s father, bought Lot 14 in Windham and John’s brother Joseph bought Lot 13. John deeded Lot 14 to David on 10 December 1734. Joseph willed Lot 13 to his sons Thomas and Joseph in 1747. Son Joseph deeded his half to his brother Thomas who sold it to David. [6]
David and Hannah were admitted to the church in Hampton in 1746. [4]
Hannah's mother Hannah, the widow of Stephen Fuller, mentions her grandson Andrew Fuller, the son of David and Hannah Fuller, as her grandson in her will of 28 July 176[?]. [6]
Inventory of the estate of Mr. David Fuller, late of Windham in Windham County, was taken by [David’s daughter Phebe’s father-in-law] John Howard, [her brother-in-law] John Howard, Jr. and Abner Robinson, all of Windham. His estate consisted of a long list of household items, livestock and 290 acres of land; it was evaluated at about 964 pounds, and exhibited on 30 September 1774. His estate was distributed to his widow, his sons Andrew, Asa, Abijah, and Josiah Fuller, and his daughters Hannah and Phebe Fuller. The distribution was exhibited on 7 December 1774. [7]
On 5 March 1810 the real estate that been set out from David’s estate to his widow Hannah was divided among the heirs of their eldest son Andrew Fuller, their sons Abijah and Josiah Fuller, the heirs of their sons Asa and Elisha Fuller, their daughter Hannah Stoddard, and the heirs of their deceased daughter Phebe Howard. On 24 April 1810 an additional 56 pounds worth of land in Boxford was added to what was to be distributed. [7]
Children of David Fuller and Hannah Fuller: Births were recorded in Windham as the children of David and Hannah. [2] Baptisms were recorded in the Hampton church records as the children of David and Hannah. [4]
i. David Fuller was born on 4 August 1744. He was baptized on 20 April 1746. He died on 14 September 1762 "at Hanvannah." [2]
ii. Andrew Fuller was born on 30 September 1747. He was baptized on 12 May 1751. He died on 17 April 1782, age 35, in Windham. [2] He married Eunice Burman on 18 January 1770 in Windham. [2] Eunice, the daughter of Isaac and Eunice (Holt) Burman, was born on 26 August 1754 in Windham. [2]
Eunice, the wife of Andrew, owned the covenant in the church in Hampton on 6 October 1776. [4]
iii. John Fuller was born on 30 January 1748/9. He was baptized on 26 February 1749. He died on 25 October 1754 in Windham. [2]
iv. Asa Fuller was born on 7 or 17 March 1751. He was baptized on 12 May 1751.He died between 1774 and 5 March 1810.
v. Abijah Fuller was born on 5 August 1753. He was baptized on 19 August 1753. He died on 5 May 1834 in Hampton, age 80. [4] He married Abigail Meacham on 15 May 1777 in Windham. [2] Abigail, the daughter of Seth and Ruth (Simons) Meacham, was born on 16 October 1752 in Windham. [2]
Abijah and his wife Abigail were admitted to communion in the Hampton church on 22 October 1780. [4]
vi. Hannah Fuller was born on 20 September 1755. She was baptized on 21 September 1755. She married Samuel Stoddard on 2 December 1778 in Windham. [2]
vii. Phebe Fuller was born on 1 December 1759. She was baptized on 9 December 1759. She died on 15 July 1806 in Hampton. She married Captain William Howard.
viii. Elisha Fuller was born on 11 November 1761. He was baptized on 15 November 1761. He probably died young.
ix. Captain Josiah Fuller was born on 30 October 1762. He was baptized on 31 October 1762. He died on 4 December 1835, probably in St. Laurence County, New York, and is buried in the Garfield Cemetery in Potsdam, St. Laurence County. [5] He married first Dorcas Holt. Dorcas, the daughter of Joshua, Jr. and Mary (Abbott) Holt, was born on 30 March 1767 in Windham. [2] She died on 1 July 1800 and is buried in Washington Street Cemetery in Middlebury, Addison County, Vermont. [5] Josiah married second Olivia Moore. [5] Olivia was born in 1784, died in 1864 and is buried in the Garfield Cemetery. [5]
Josiah’s grave has a Revolutionary War marker. The inscription on Dorcas’s gravestone in the Washington Street Cemetery in Middlebury, Addison County says, “In memory of Mrs. Dorcas Fuller Consort of Captain Josiah Fuller who died July 1 AD 1800 in the 34 year of her age.” [5]
