John Denison (d. 1725), son of John Denison and Priscilla Unknown

Ruth Ayer (1660–1695), daughter of Cornet Peter Ayer and Hannah Allen


John died on 12 August 1725 in Ipswich. [1] He married first Ruth Ayer, the daughter of Cornet Peter and Hannah (Allen) Ayer. [2] He married second Elizabeth Unknown. Elizabeth, the widow of John the weaver, died on 15 September 1725 in Ipswich. [1]

Ruth, the daughter of Peter Ayer and Hannah Allen was born on 30 October 1660 in Haverhill.[3] Ruth the wife of John, died on 2 February 1694/5 in Ipswich. [1]

John Denison of Ipswich made his will on 24 July 1725. He mentioned his wife Elizabeth, his sons John, George, and Daniel, his daughters Ruth Kingsbury and Hannah Kingsbury, and his aged sister Smith. [4]

A Salem deed (referring to John's children) says: [2]

John Denison, of Ipswich, Junr, weaver, and Joseph Kingsbury and Ruth Kingsbury, and Nathaniel Kingsbury and Hannah Kingsbury, of Norwich, in Connecticut, convey to Samuel Ayer of Haverhill, land in Haverhill, know by the name of World's End land, which was formerly Peter Ayer's land; October 30 1714.

Children of John and Ruth:

i. Ruth Denison was born on 9 August 1684 in Ipswich. [1] She died on 15 August 1685 in Ipswich. [1]

ii. Ruth Denison was born on 7 June 1686 in Ipswich. She died on 6 May 1779 in Norwich. She married Captain Joseph Kingsbury.

iii. John Dension died on 30 July [1688?] in Ipswich. [1]

iii. Hannah Denison (birth apparently unrecorded) was probably born about 1690. She died on 14 May 1772. She married Nathaniel Kingsbury of Norwich after 2 April 1709 (intention) in Ipswich. [1] Nathaniel was the brother of her sister Ruth's husband. [Ref]

iv. John Denison was born on 28 April 1692 in Ipswich. [1] He died on 4 May 1761, age 69, in Ipswich. [1] He married Rebecca Wallis after 12 August 1727 (intention) in Ipswich. [1] Rebecca, the wife of John, died on 4 May 1752, age 51, in Ipswich. [1]

John wrote his will on 18 January 1754; it was proved on 1 June 1761. He mentioned his niece Rebecca Manning, who lived with him, and her sisters Elizabeth, Mary, and Anna; his sisters Ruth Kingsbury of Norwich and Hannah Kingsbury; Joseph Kingsbury of Norwich and Nathaniel Kingsbury of Coventry; his two cousins Daniel and Dennison Kingsbury; his cousin John Perkins of Topsfield; his grandfather Ayer, who left him land at Harwich; his cousin Eliza Fitts. v. Priscilla Denison was born on 14 January 1694/5 in Ipswich. [1] She died on 30 January 1694/5 in Ispwich. [1]

Childen of John and Elizabeth:

vi. George Denison was born on 6 October 1700 in Ipswich. [1] He died on 6 August 1725 in Ipswich. [1]

vii. Daniel Denison was born on 9 November 1702 in Ipswich. [1] He was alive on 24 July 1725, when he was mentioned in his father's will, but possibly dead by 18 January 1754, when he was not mentioned in his half-brother's will.
