MALCOLM ALFRED BEESON (1879 – 1971), son of Mary Ann Frances Sibert³ (David², John David¹)

Malcolm Alfred Beeson was born on 20 June 1879. [1][2] He died on 30 August or 1 September 1971, aged 92, in Stillwater, Payne County, Oklahoma. [2][3] He married Effie Harrison on 14 July 1904. [1][3] Effie was born on 16 June 1882. [1][2] She died on 10 April 1971. [2][3] Malcolm and Effied are buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Ponca City, Kay County, Oklahoma. [2]

Malcolm received his B.S. in 1900 from the Alabama Polytechnic Institute. He taught chemistry at the East Mississippi Female College in 1900 and 1901. He studied medicine at Johns Hopkins from 1900 to 1903 but gave it up for health reasons. He was founder and president of the Meridian Male College from 1903 to 1914. [1][3]

He was a professor of agronomy and an agronomist at Oklahoma A&M in Stillwater from 1915 to 1921. He was dean of agriculture there from 1921 to 1923. [1][3]

According to the census, in 1910, Malcolm A., aged 30, and Effie, aged 28, lived in Meridian, Lauderdale County, Mississippi, with their daughters Evelyn, aged three, and Wilamena, aged one, and Malcolm's father, William. Effie had had two children, and both were living. In 1920, Malcolm, aged 40, and Effie H., aged 37, lived in Stillwater with their children, Eveline, aged 12; Wilamina, aged 11; and Malcolm W., aged nine. Malcolm was a teacher; all the children were born in Mississippi. In 1930, Malcolm, aged 50, and Effie, aged 47, lived in Stillwater with their children Willie, aged 21, and Malcolm, aged 19. Malcolm was in real estate, and Willie was an art teacher. In 1940, Malcolm, aged 60, and Effie, aged 51, lived in Stillwater. Malcolm was in farming and insurance. In 1850, Malcolm, aged 70, and Effie, aged 67, lived in Stillwater, and Malcolm was in insurance. [4]

Children of Malcolm Alfred Beeson and Effie Harrison:

i. Evelyn Beeson was born on 22 April 1907 in Meridian. [1][2] She died on 5 February 2000. [2][5] She married Robert Alexander Parker on 14 June 1928. [2][5][6] Robert, the son of Harvey Leroy and Laura May (Hickman) Parker, was born on 23 June 1905 and died on 20 August 1986. [2] Evelyn and Robert are buried in the Odd Fellows Cemetery. [2]

Evelyn and Robert were 1927 graduates of Oklahoma A&M. At the time of their engagement, Evelyn was teaching, and Robert was in the lumber business. [6]

According to the census, in 1940, Robert, aged 34, and Evelyn, aged 32, lived in Stillwater with their sons Robert A., aged seven, and Alfred L., aged five. Robert was the general manager of the Parker Lumber Company. In 1950, Robert, aged 44, and Evelyn, aged 42, lived in Ponca City with their sons Robert A., Jr., aged 17; Alfred L., aged 15; and one who is possibly living; and their daughter, Evelyn Jane, aged four. Robert was the proprietor of a lumber company. [4]

Children:

• Robert A. Parker was born about 1932. He died on 16 July 1951, age 19, in Ponca City. [7]
  
  Robert, a student at Oklahoma A&M, went to a railroad yard to help unload cement for his father's lumber yard. He was crushed when a 1,500-pound box car door fell on him. [7]
  
  
• Alfred L. Parker was born on 9 March 1935 in Oklahoma City. [8] He died on 13 December 2004. [8] His wife and two children survived him. [8]
  
  Alfred received his B.A. and M.A. from Oklahoma State University and his Ph.D. in economics from Ohio State University. He was a professor at the University of New Mexico and department chair for nine years. [8]
  
  Alfred played basketball for Oklahoma State. [8]
  
  
• Evelyn Jane Parker was born on 19 February 1946 in Oklahoma City. She died on 7 May 2017, aged 71. [9] She married Stanley R. Irwin. [9] Stanley, the son of Forrest H. and Hazel M. Irwin, was born on 23 January 1941 in Henderson, Texas, and died on 31 May 2008 in Indianapolis. [10] Evelyn and Stanley are buried in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Greencastle, Indiana. [2][10]
  
  Stanley was a professor of music and director of DePauw University choirs. [9] He was a professional singer and conductor. [2]

ii. Wilamina Beeson was born on 24 December 1908 in Meridian. [1][2][11] She died on 9 December 1992. [2][11] She married Dr. Robert Plummer on 3 September 1936 in Stillwater. [2][12] He was born in 1906 in Joplin, Missouri, and died on 13 June 1973 in Rochester, Olmsted County, Minnesota. [2][13] Wilamina and Robert are interred in the Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery in Pheonix, Maricopa County, Arizona. [2]

Robert received his B.A. from Oklahoma State University, his M.A. from George Peabody University, and his Ph.D. in speech pathology from Louisiana State University. [13] He joined the Arizona State faculty in 1940 and was in private practice as a speech pathologist for 25 years in Phoenix. [13]

Wilamina received her B.A. from Oklahoma A&M and her master's degree from Columbia University. [12]

According to the census, in 1940, Robert, age 34, and Robert, age 32, lived in Baton Rouge. Robert was a teacher at the state university. In 1950, Robert, aged 43, and Wilamina, aged 41, lived in Tempe with their son and daughter. Robert was a speech pathologist at a children's hospital with his own office. [4]

Robert was survived by his wife, a daughter, and a son. [13]

iii. William Malcolm Beeson was born on 3 February 1911 in Meridian. [1][2][10] He died on 24 October 1988, age 77, in Lafayette, Tippecanoe County, Indiana. [2][10] He married Mary Louise Neff on 1 October 1934 in Madison, Dane County, Wisconsin. [2][14] Laura was the daughter of Grover C. Neff of Madison. [14] She was born on 7 or 12 June 1912 in Kilbourne, Ohio, and died on 19 June 1999 in Beaverbrook, Ohio. [2][15] William and Laura are buried in the Davids Cemetery in Kettering, Montgomery County, Ohio. [2]

Mary graduated from the University of Wisconsin in 1933. [14]

William graduated from Oklahoma A&M and received his M.S. from the University of Wisconsin. At the time of his marriage, he was working on his Ph.D. there. [14]

According to the census, in 1940, W. Malcolm, aged 29, and Mary Neff, aged 27, lived in Moscow, Latah County, Idaho, with their two daughters. Malcolm was an associate professor of animal husbandry. In 1950, Malcolm, aged 39, and Mary, aged 38, lived in West Lafayette, Tippecanoe County with their two daughters. Malcolm was a professor of animal husbandry at a university. [4]
