BENJAMIN WHITE, son of Guy White and Elizabeth Griffith
ELIZABETH SMITH, daughter of William Coale Smith and Jane Edmonston
Benjamin White was born about 1700/1704. He married Elizabeth Smith on 1 February 1722 or 1723.
Elizabeth Smith, the mother of the children below, left a will naming them as sons Nathan Smith, Benjamin, William, and John and daughters Sarah, Eleanor, Jane, Elizabeth, Hester, and Mary. [Ref]
Benjamin White was born after 1700 as he is the third listed son who is described as under 16 in his father's will of 3 August 1712. His marriage date suggests he was not born long after.
His father left him a third of "Cool Spring Manor."
Benjamin's mother left him a slave in her will of 18 January 1751.
The date of Benjamin's marriage, but not his wife's name, is from MacKenzie and Rhoades. [Ref]
Children of Benjamin White and Elizabeth Smith:
i. Jane White died on 18 August 1818 in Saint Bartholomew Parish, Montgomery County. [Ref] She married Hezekiah Thomas on 27 June 1780 in Prince George's County. [Ref] Hezekiah, the son of John Thomas, grandson of John Thomas, great-grandson of James Thomas and great-great-grandson of Thomas Thomas, was born on 4 March 1731 in Charles County, Maryland. [Ref] He died on 17 March 1810 in Montgomery County. [Ref]
ii. William White married Mary Whitehead. [Ref]
iii. Elizabeth White married Unknown Allen. [Ref]
iv. John White married Elizabeth Gott.[Ref]
v. Sarah Mary White was born on 2 November 1742. She died on 6 May 1816. She married Edward Jones.
vi. Nathan Smith White married Margaret Presbury Chiswell in 1787. [Ref][Ref]
