JOSEPH TWITCHELL (bp. 1582–1657)
ELIZABETH LOVETT (bp. 1614)
Richard Twitchell was born say 1556. [1] He was buried on 6 April 1619 in Chesham, Buckinghamshire. [1] He married Cicely Waller there on 14 November 1581. [1]
Joseph, the son of Richard and Cicely (Waller) Twitchell, was baptized on 27 May 1582 in Chesham, Buckinghamshire. [1] He died on 13 September 1657 in Dorchester. [1][2] He married Elizabeth, the daughter of James and Joan Lovett, on 12 May 1614 in Chesham. [1][3] Elizabeth was baptized on 27 April 1589 in Chesham. [3]
Joseph migrated in 1633 and settled in Dorchester. [2] There is no New England record of his wife. [2]
John Lovett of Hundridge in Chesham was born say 1535. [3] He was buried on 28 June 1579 in Chesham. [3] He married Joan Byrch on 22 July 1560 in Chesham. [3] She married second William Mortimer on 23 December 1583. [3]
James Lovett, the son of John and Joan (Byrch) Lovett, was baptized on 18 November 1565 in Chesham. [3] He was buried there on 27 February 1633/4. [3] He married first Joan ___. [3] She was buried on 24 March 1590/1 in Chesham. [3] He married second Mary ___. [3]
Joseph joined the church and was a freeman on 14 May 1634. [2] He joined the second Dorchester church on 8 March 1644/5. [2]
Inventory was taken on his estate on 8 October 1657 and it amounted to £43-15-04. [2]
Children of Joseph Twitchell:
i. Joseph Twitchell was baptized on 12 March 1614/5 in Chesham. [1] He was buried on 29 September in Isleworth, Middlesex. [1]
ii. Benjamin Twitchell was baptized on 22 February 1617/8 in Heston, Middlesex, England. He died on 17 December 1681 in Sherborn. He married Mary Riggs.
iii. Unknown Daughter Twitchell was baptized on 24 April 1620 in Isleworth. [1] She or her sister Mary might have married Timothy, the son of Nathaniel Wales of Dorchester and Boston. [1].
iv. Mary Twitchell was baptized on 13 October 1622 in Isleworth. [1] There is no further record of her unless she married Timothy Wales. [1]
