JOSEPH PLYMPTON (1653–1702), son of Sergeant John Plympton and Jane Damon
MARY MORSE (c. 1652–1717), daughter of Joseph Morse and Hannah Phillips
Joseph, the son of John and Jame Plympton, was born on 7 October 1653 in Medfield. [1] He died on 20 June 1702 in Medfield. [1][2] He married Mary Morse on 3 November 1675 in Medfield. [1]
Mary, the daughter of Joseph and Hannah (Phillips) Morse, was born about 1652. [2] Mary, the widow of Joseph, died on 25 December 1717 in Medfield. [1][2]
Joseph died intestate. Inventory was taken on his estate on 8 February 1702/3 and amounted to £440-08-06. The widow Mary Plympton and Joseph Plymton made oath to it on 15 March 1702/3. The same day they posted bond and were given administration. Probate was on 5 April 1704. On 12 April 1704 Samuel Barbour, Henry Adams, John Fisher, Eliezer Wheelock and John Dwight—or any three of them—were ordered to make a division. The division, between the widow Mary Plympton, Joseph Plympton, the eldest son, Jonathan Plympton, Jeremiah Plympton, and Mary Plympton, was made on 7 June 1704 and aprroved by the Judge of Probate on 12 August 1704. i. Joseph Plympton was born on 15 March 1676/7 in Medfield. [1]
ii. Jonathan Plympton was born on 28 April 1680 in Medfield. [1] He might be the Jonathan who died on 6 December 1749 in Medfield. [1]
iii. Jeremiah Plympton was born on 8 November 1683 in Medfield. He married Elizabeth Johnson.
iv. Mary Plympton was born in July 1692 in Medfield. [1] She might be the Mary who married Samuel Adams on 22 November 1709 in Medfield. [1]
