Robert Crosby (bp. 30 October 1596)

Robert Crosby, the son of John Crosby and Jane Webster, was baptized on 30 October 1596 in Holme-on-Spalding-Moor, East Riding, Yorkshire. [1] He died before 1642. [1] He married Constance Brigham about 1622. [1]

Thomas Brigham was baptized on 21 May 1575 in Holme-on-Spalding-Moor. He died by 19 March 1632/3. He married Isabel Watson. Isabel, the daughter of James Watson, was baptized on 21 February 1560/1 in Holme-on-Spalding-Moor and was buried on 25 June 1634. She married first Richard Ellithorpe, on 4 February 1600/1.

Children of Thomas Brigham and Isabel Watson: i. Constance was born about 1601. ii. Anne was born about 1606. She married first Simon Crosby on 21 April 1634. She died on 11 October 1675 in Braintree. She married second Reverend William Tompson of Braintree. Simon and Ann came to New England on the Susan and Ellen in the spring of 1635.

Constance, the daughter of Thomas Brigham and Isabel Watson of Holme-on-Spalding-Moor was born about 1601. [1] She was buried on 25 January 1683/4 in Rowley. [1][2]

Constance was the widow of Robert Crosby of Holme, Cambridgeshire. [3] She came to New England as a widow with three daughters and was granted a houselot in Rowley. [2]

Ezekiel Rogers, a Yorkshire minister, came with about 20 families to Boston in 1638. On 13 March 1638/9 land between Ipswich and Newbury was laid out. Settlement began in April 1639 and the town of Rowley was incorporated that September. Constance was one of Rogers's company. [3]

ii. Jane Crosby was baptized on 22 April 1627.

iii. Mary Crosby was baptized on 4 December 1629. She buried on 29 November 1667 in Rowley. She married Richard Longhorne.

iv. Robert Crosby was baptized on 22 July 1632..

v. Hannah Crosby was baptized on 31 October 1634.
