JOHN ASLEBEE (c. 1614–1671)
REBECCA AYER (d. 1687/1702), daughter of John Ayer and Hannah Unknown
John Aslebee was born about 1614. [1] He died on 6 June 1671 in Andover. [1] He married Rebecca, the daughter of John and Hannah Ayer on 8 October 1648 in Newbury. [1][2][3, "probably]
Rebecca Ayer, the daughter of John and Hannah of Haverhill, died between 20 May 1687 and 2 November 1702. [1] She married second George Keyser of Salem. [1] George was probably born in Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire about 1612/1614. [1] He died about 1690 in Salem. [1] He married first Elizabeth Holyoke about 1645. [1] Elizabeth, the daughter of Edward and Prudence (Stockton) Holyoke, was born about 1619, probably in Tamworth, Staffordshire. [1] She died on 24 June 1659 in Lynn. [1]
John did not sign his name; others spelled it Aslit, Aslett, Alsbee, and Asleby. The spelling her is from the will of the second John Aslebee, who signed it this way.
John came to Rowley in 1645 and to Andover in 1646. [1] He was a constable in 1663. [1]
Rebecca's father's will suggests that she was married and had children by 12 March 1656/7.
John made his will on 15: 3m: 1671; it was proved on 27: 4m: 1671. He mentions his wife Rebecca, his son John and his unnamed daughters. [1]
George Keyser made his will on 15 February 1686/7 and mentioned Elizabeth Aslebee, his wife's daughter. [1]
