ANN CANNING (c. 1635/40–aft 1688)
John Petty was born about 1635/40. [1] died on 8 March 1679/80 in Springfield, Hampden County, Massachusetts. [2] He married Ann Canning on 30 March or May 1662 in Boston. [1]
Ann Canning was born about 1635/40. [1] She was living in 1688. [1] The widow Ann Petty married Samuel Owen on 5 September 1681 in Springfield. [2] Samuel was the son of Samuel Owens. [1]
The widow Ann Petty alias Owen requested settlement of her husbands estate on 28 March 1682. [1]
Samuel moved to North Brookfield, Worcester County, Massachusetts about 1688. [1]

i. James Petty was born on 25 May 1662 in Windsor, Berkshire County, Massachusetts. He married Mary Lawton on 14 June 1683 in Springfield. [2]
James moved to North Brookfield. [3]
ii. Hannah Petty was born on 11 December 1667 in Springfield. [1] She died on 1 January 1666 in Springfield. [2]
iii. John Petty was born on 21 or 11 December 1667. He married Mary Taylor.
iv. Mary Petty was born on 27 March 1670. She died between 1716 and 1731. [1] She married first Thomas Taylor on 13 April 1693, the same day her brother John married Mary Taylor, in Springfield. [2] Thomas, the son of Jonathan and Mary Taylor, was born on 9 August 1660 and died in April 1691 in Springfield. [1] Mary married second Thomas Rich on 6 April 1697 in Springfield. [1] He died in 1702 in Brookfield. [1] Mary married third Deacon Joseph Jennings of Brookfield. Joseph, the son of Stephen and Hannah (Dickenson) (Gillet) Jennings, was born on 23 August 1682 and died after 1751. [1] He married second by 1731 Sarah Unknown. [1]
v. Joseph Petty was born on 27 December 1672. He married first Elizabeth, the daughter of Joseph Edwards of Northampton, Hampshire County, Massachusetts on 14 February 1701. [3] He married second Sarah, probably the daughter of Joseph Edward's brother Samuel, on 2 June 1703. [3]
Joseph moved to Coventry, Connecticut about 1708 and then returned to Northampton. [3]
vi. Anna Petty was born on 19 May 1675. Anna, the daughter of John, became sick and died on 17 May 1691 in Springfield. [2]
vii. Unknown Petty was stillborn on 23 June 1677.
viii. Ebenezer Petty was born on 9 October 1678.
