William Lewis (by c. 1595–1683)

William Lewis was born by about 1595, based on his estimated marriage date. [1] He died between 30 August and 3 December 1683. He married Felix ___. [1] She died on 17 April 1671 in Hadley. [1]

William migrate in 1632 on the Lyon. [1] He settled in Cambridge, moved to Hartford in 1636, Hadley in 1659, and Farmington in 1675. [1]

William was a freeman on 6 November 1632. [1] He was on the Connecticut petit jury on 2 September 1641; he was chosen a selectman in Hartford on 21 January 1640/1 and 4 February 1650/1; he was a constable on 7 February 1653/4 and 28 February 1654/5. [1] He was a deputy to the General Court for Hadley on 7 May 1662, 27 May 1663, and 18 May 1664. [1]

William made his will on 30 August 1683; it was proved on 18 December 1683. Inventory was taken on 3 December 1683. William left bequests to his grandchildren Ezekiel, Nathaniel, Abigail, Philip, and Ebenezer Lewis; he named his son William his executor. [1]

i. Captain William Lewis was born say 1620. He died between 16 July 1689 and 28 August 1690. He married first Mary Hopkins. He married second Mary Cheever.
