GEORGE BROWN (1651–1721), son of William Brown and Mary Murdock
MEHITABLE KNOWLES (b. 1653), daughter of Richard Knowles and Ruth Bower
George, the son of William Brown and Mary Murdock, was born on 16 January 1651 in Plymouth Colony. [1] He died between 29 June 1721, when he wrote his will and 3 August 1721, when it was proved. [2]
Mehitable, the daughter of Richard Knowles and Ruth Bower, was born on 20 May 1653, probably in Eastham. [2][3, 18]
George Brown is on a 1695 list of the inhabitants of Eastham. [1]
In his will, George divided his property among his children, but did not name them. About two-thirds of his inventory was a debt due from Joshua Brown. Three town grants had been laid out adjacent to each other: one to George and two to Joshua. That Joshua named a son Knowles Brown is some evidence that the Mehitable who was George’s wife was Mehitable Knowles. [2]

i. William Brown [2] He married Susanna ( ) Harding on 27 October 1699 in Eastham. [4, 45][2] Susanna was the widow of John Harding.
ii. James Brown married Ruth Snow on 13 April 1704. [5, probably this James] Ruth, the daughter of Joseph Snow and granddaughter of Nicholas Snow, was born on 17 October 1679. [3, 11] She died after 1717. [5]
