Robert Kinsman (c. 1589–1665)
Robert Kinsman was born by 1605. [1] Robert Kinsman, Sr. died on 28 January 1664/[5?] in Ipswich. [2] His origins and the name of his wife are unknown. [3]
Robert was apparently the Robert Kingman who came to New England on the Mary and John in 1634. [3]
He was granted land in Ipswich in 1637 and he was a commoner there in 1641. [3]
Robert was a glazier. He was a glazier: the inventory of his estate included “glass, lead, vise and tools belonging to the glazing trade”. [1]
Robert made his will on 25 January 1664/5; it was probated on 28 March 1665. He mentioned his son Robert; Isaac and Sarah Ringe, the children of his daughter Mary; daughter Mary, the wife of Uzall Wardell and four elder children Daniel, Roger, Mary and Susan Ringe; daughter Sarah, wife of Samuel Younglove; daughter Hannah; daughter Martha, wife of Jacob Foster; daughter Tabitha Kinsman; cousin Richard Nicolls; Mary, daughter of daughter Foster. [4]
On 13 November 1649, “Robert Kinsman, being above threescore years of age and having the sciatica, was freed from training”. [1]
