James Kingsbury was buried on 15 April 1590 in Boxford. He married Agnes ___. She was buried on 30 December 1602 in Boxford.

James, husbandman of Boxford, made his will on 12 April 1590. He mentioned his wife Agnes, his son-in-law John Dyxon, his son James , His son Abraham, his daughter Rachel, his son Henry, his son Thomas's son James, and his brother Roger Kingsbury.

Agnes, widow of county Suffolk, made her will in 1600; it was proved on 5 January 1602/[3?]. She mentioned her son James and his wife Ann, her son Abraham, her daughter Rachel, wife of John Carpenter, and her son Henry.

i. Thomas Kingsbury (no parents given) was baptized on 3 March 1558.

ii. James Kingsbury was baptized on 6 September 1562.

iii. Rachel Kingsbury was baptized on 9 September 1565. Her father's will suggests she married John Dyxon. Her mother's will suggests she had a subsequent husband John Carpenter.

iv. Abraham Kingsbury was baptized on 9 February 1567.

v. Henry Kingsbury was baptized on 22 June 1575. He might be the Henry who was buried in Boxford on 17 January 1627.

James Kingsbury was baptized on 6 September 1562 in Boxford. He was buried on 26 April 1622 in Boxford. He married Ann Francis on 22 October 1584. She was buried on 13 April 1624 in Boxford.

James of Boxford, yeoman, made his will on 9 April 1622; it was proved on 3 May 1622. He mentioned his wife Ann; his son James, his grandson James and Anne and Bridget the daughters of his son James; his son Henry and grandson Henry; his son John; his daughter Sarah; his unmarried daughter Elizabeth; his son Joseph; his son Thomas; his daughter Alice; his brother Abraham; variouis nieces and nephews.

ii. Henry Kingsbury married first Jane Warren . He married second Margaret (Blyth) Alabaster.

An unnamed son of James was baptized on 9 August 1590 in Stoke by Neyland; it might have been one of the above sons.

iii. John Kingsbury was baptized on 25 May 1595 in Boxford. He married Margaret Whisson on 18 May 1621 in Assington. [fjk, parish record]

John came to New England and settled in Dedham. [fjk]

iv. Sarah Kingsbury was baptized on 5 May 1597 in Boxford.

Henry, the son of James Kingsbury, was born say 1587. He married first Jane Warren on 5 December 1613 in Stoke by Nayland, Suffok. [tfd][fjk, parish record] He married second Margaret (Blyth) Alabaster in 18 May 1621 in Assington. [tfd][fjk, parish record]

Margaret Blyth married Thomas Alabaster on 8 July 1618. [fjk] He was the son of Roger Alabaster and his wife Bridget Winthrop, the aunt of Governor John Winthrop. [fjk] He died in 1620 in Assington. [fjk]

Henry worked for the Winthrops in England. [tfd]

On 17 November 1629 Martha Winthrop wrote to her husband that Kingsbury would go to New England with his wife and two children. [gjw, 2: 169]

Henry and Margaret and their children James and Sarah came to Boston in the Talbot in the 1630s.

In a 28 April 1630 letter to his wife, John Winthrop wrote that Henry had a child or two in the Talbot sick with measles. [gjw, 2: 225] In a 9 December 1630 letter, John Withrop, Jr. refers to Goodman Kingsbury of Assington. [gjw, 2: 326]

Henry and Margaret were the 25th and 26th members of hte Boston church. An annotation that she "dead since" makes it likely that she died within a few years after her arrival. [gmb]

In about 1634 Ephraim Child wrote to Winthrop and refered to Henry Kingsbury and Winthrop's servant. [gjw, 3: 144]

In an early 1635 letter from Henry Jacie to John Winthrop, Jr., Henry alludes to religious books that Henry Kingsbury wished him to procure. [gmb]

i. Henry Kingsbury was born about 1615. He died on 1 October 1678 in Haverhill. He married Susan Riddlesdale.
