Generation 1

John Buller was born say 1510 in Barnham. He died before 1568. His widow Margaret was buried in St. Martin, Barnham on 3 August 1587.

Children of John Buller:

i. Henry Buller was born say 1535. He married Margaret ___.

ii. John Buller was born say 1538. He was buried in St. Martin on 16 January 1590/1.

Thomas Bignette of Hoxne was born say 1490. He died between 16 January 1541/2 and 6 June 1547. He married second Agnes ___. She died between 20 May and 7 November 1552.

Thomas Bignette wrote his will on 16 January 1541/2; it was proved on 6 June 1547. He mentioned his wife Agnes, son William, sons Nicholas, John, and Peter, and daughters Margaret and Johan

Agnes ___ wrote her will on 20 May 1552; it was proved on 7 November 1552. It suggests she is not the mother of William. She mentions her sons Nicholas, John, and Peter, daughters Margaret Fygge and Johan.

Children of Thomas Bignette and his unknown first wife:

i. William Bignette was born about 1519. He married Margaret ___.

Children of Thomas Bignette and Agnes ___: Nicholas, John, Peter, Margaret, who probably married Simon Fygge, Johane.

Generation 2

Henry Buller was born say 1535. He died after 16 January 1590/1. He married Margaret ___.

Children of Henry and Margaret Buller:

i. William Buller was born say 1562. He married Grace Bignette.

ii. Margaret Buller was baptized on 2 February 1563/4. She probably married John Garnham.

iii. Katherine Buller was baptized on 19 September 1567.

iv. Ellen Buller was born say 1569. She married Thomas Larlinge on 28 June 1590 in St. Martin.

v. Daughter Buller buried 27 February 1570/1.

vi. Henry Buller was baptized on 26 September 1574.

William Bignette was born about 1519, probably in Hoxne. He died between 25 May and 24 September 1583. He married Margaret ___ probably about 1544 Margaret was buried on 25 May 1596 in Hoxne.

William Bigner made his will on 25 May 1583; it was proved on 24 September 1583. He mentioned his wife Margaret, daughter Johane, wife of Edmund Crosse, son George, daughter Agnes, the wife of Robert, sons Stephen and William, daughters Alice Bignet, Cecilie Bignet and Grace Bignet.

Margaret made her will on 19 May 1596; it was proved on 12 June 1596. She mentioned her late husband William Bignet, son-in-law Robert Runacres, son William's daughter Virtue, son Stephen's son John, son George, daughter Joane Crosse, wife of Edmund Cross, and daughter Agnes Runacres, wife of Robert Runacres.

Children of William Bignette and Margaret ___:

i. Johan Bignette was born say 1545. She married Edmund Crosse.

ii. Alice Bignette was born say 1547.

iii. George Bignette was born say 1549. He married Alice ___.

iv. Agnes Bignette was born say 1551. She married Robert Runacres on 30 April 1581 in Mellis, co. Suffolk.

v. Stephen Bignette was born say 1553. He was buried on 29 September 1628 in Hoxne. He married first Grace Howes on 11 October 1584 in Eye, co. Suffolk. He married second Marie ___. She was buried on 15 February 1642/3 in Hoxne.

vi. Cicely Bignette was baptized on 21 March 1555/6. She was buried on 13 June 1619 in Hoxne. She married Abraham Goodricke on 15 October 1587 in Hoxne.

vii. John Bignette (possible son, no parents names given) was baptized on 3 June 1560.

viii. William Bignette was baptized on 8 June 1562. He was buried on 7 December 1626 in Eye. He married Dorothy London on 26 June 1586 in Eye.

ix. Grace Bignette was baptized on 8 June 1567. She married William Bullard.

Generation 3

William Buller (Bullard) was born say 1562. He married Grace Bignette on 2 July 1587 in St. Martin.

Grace Bignette, the daughter of William Bignette and Margaret ___, was baptized on 8 June 1567 in Hoxne, Suffolk. She died in late 1629 or early 1630.

William probably lived his whole live in Barnham. He was a churchwarden in 1599.

William made his will on 16 May 1610. He left his wife Grace his house and land for her widowhood. After that, it was to go to his son William. He also left bequests to his children Margaret, John, John, Grace, George, Ellen, and Robert. He mentioned his brother Henry, brother Larling, and John Garnham.

Grace's undated will was probated on 8 February 1629/30. She named the same children except William—maybe she thought he had enough—and Margaret, who had probably died.

Children of William Buller (Bullard) and Grace Bignette:

i. Margaret Bullard was born say 1588. She probably died between 16 May 1610 and 8 February 1629/30.

ii. Joane Bullard was born say 1590.

iii. Grace Bullard was born say 1592.

iv. William Bullard was born about 1594. He died on 23 December 1686 in Dedham. He married first ___. He married second Mary, the widow of Francis Grissell, on 4 January 1653 in Charlestown. He died on 17 May 1685 in Charlestown.

William came to New England in 1638.

v. John Bullard was born say 1596. He died "by the overturn of a cart" on 27 October 1678 in Medfield. He married first Magdalene ___, who died on 29 November 1661 in Medfield. He married second Ellen, the widow of Thomas Dickerman by 26 February 1663/4.

vi. Robert Bullard was probably born about 1599. He married Anne Martyn.

vii. Katherine Bullard (twin) was baptized and buried on 24 February 1599/60 in St. Martin.

viii. Mary Bullard (twin) was baptized and buried on 24 February 1599/60 in St. Martin.

ix. George Bullard was born say 1602. He died on 14 January 1688/9 in Watertown. He married first Margaret ___. She was buried on 6 February 1639/40 in Watertown. He married second Beatrice Hall on 17 November 1644. He married third the widow Mary Maplehead on 20 April 1655 in Watertown. He married fourth Jane, the widow of Roger Else, on 2 May 1672 in Watertown.

x. Ellen Bullard was born say 1604.

Robert, the son of William and Grace (Bignette) Bullard, was probably born about 1599 in Barnham, co. Suffolk. [1] He was buried on 29 4 [June] 1639, age 40, in Watertown. [2] He married Anne Martyn, probably about 1625. [1]

Anne Martyn was born say 1604. [1] She died before 15 October 1660. [1] She married second Henry Thorpe before 25 November 1639. [1]

William Bullard of Dedham, John Bullard of Medfield, and George and Robert Bullard of Watertown were brothers. [3]

Children of Robert Bullard and Anne Martyn:

i. William Bullard was baptized on 19 August 1625 and buried on 17 October 1626 in Barnham. [1]

ii. Ann Bullard was born say 1627. She died on 15 July 1711 in Cambridge. She married Richard Dana.

iii. Maudlin (Magdalen) Bullard was born say 1630. [1]

iv. Benjamin Bullard was born say 1634. Benjamin of Medfield married Elizabeth Ellis on 1 May 1677 in Billerica. [4]

Anne Martyn's English Ancestry [1]

John Martyn was born say 1576. He died between 28 December 1629 and 8 November 1630.

John Martyn, cook, made his will on 28 December 1629; it was proved on 8 November 1630. He left bequests to his sons Thomas and John; Judy, the daughter of his son-in-law Henry Write; other sons and daughters: Anne, wife of Robert Buller, daughter Magdalen Martyn, son William.

Children of John Martyn:

i. John Martyn was born say 1602.

ii. Anne Martyn was born say 1604.

iii. Thomas Martyn was born say 1606.

iv. Magdalen Martyn was born say 1608. She might be the Magdalen who married Robert Bullard's brother John Bullard.
