On 10 May 1667 Lionel Wheatley and Elinor his wife sold 35 acres heading on the land pertaining to the iron works to Richard Thayer. The land had been granted by the town of Boston to Hugh Gunnison, who sold it to Elinor's deceased father Evan Thomas. [3]
Lionel Wheatley was a freeman of Boston in 1673. [4].
In his will of 9 June 1676, Thomas Matson mentions "my daughter Abigall Wheatly wife of Lyonall Wheatly." [2]
Lionel made his will on 5 September 1677; it was probated on 2 November. He mentions his three youngest children by "Abigail my last wife": Martha, William and Abigail. He left each of them 50 pounds beside the land given by my father Thomas Matson and uncle Theodore Atkinson to my wife and her heirs, including what would be part of his father-in-law's estate after the death of his mother-in-law. He also left them a guinea of gold and two rings. He left Abigail five pewter dishes which were in the hands of his mother-in-law. He also names his surviving children with his first wife: Jane, the wife of William Lancaster, Mary and John. [1][5]
On 11 March 1680, Arthur Mason, biscuit baker, and Thomas Dewey, Sr., tailor, as executors of the will of Lionel Wheatley, a deceased mariner of Boston, sold some of his property for 340 pounds. [6]
On 19 December 1698 Thomas Nichols, seaman, and his wife Martha and Abigail Wheatley, spinster, the only surviving children of Lionel Wheatley and his wife Abigail, both deceased, deeded land. [1]
