I-E-1-e. WILLIAM JASPER SIBERT (1881 – 1952), son of David R. Sibert4 (Jasper3, David2, John David1)

William Jasper Sibert was born on 28 August 1881 in Jonesboro, Craighead County. [1][2] He died on 1 July 1952 in St. Louis. [3] William of Bono, Craighead County married Rachel Annie West of Bono on 3 August 1907. [4] Ann, the daughter of Jake and Almira (Johnson) West, was born on 3 December 1888 in Arkansas. [5] Mrs. Ann West died on 1 February 1934 in Big Creek, Craighead County. [5] Apparently, William and Annie separated or divorced by 12 September 1918. William is buried in the St. Matthew Cemetery in St. Louis. [3][6] Ann is buried in the Trinity Cemetery in Bono. [5]

According to his death certificate, William J., the son of David, died of heat exhaustion due to chronic interstitial nephritis on 28 July 1883. His birth date is given as 28 July 1883. He was said to be a widower. The informant was Roy Sibert of Vancouver. Washington. [3]

According to her death certificate, Mrs. Ann West was a widow. It says, "Examined by no M.D. Dead when Dr. got to house and he did not go in. Said to have had a chill." [5]

According to the census, in June 1900, Rachel A., born in December 1887[!] in Arkansas, lived in Shady Grove with her parents Jalup and Almira West. [7]

On 3 May 1910, [illegible], aged 28 and born in Arkansas, and Annie, aged 22 and born in Arkansas, lived in Shady Grove with their two-year-old son George. They had been married three years and Annie had had one child. [Illegible] was a farmer. [7]

According to his 12 September 1918 World War I draft registration card, William worked in a factory. He was short, with dark eyes and hair. His nearest relative was Minnie Lee Tenneson. [2]

On 26 January 1920, W.J., aged 38 and described as widowed, lived with his sister Minnie Tenison, a servant and her two children, and his niece Flossie Tenison in Truman, Poinsett County, Arkansas. He was a laborer at a veneer mill. In February 1920, Annie, aged 32 and described as a widow, lived with her mother, Almira West, and her inferred children: George, aged 12; Earl, aged ten; and Ovel, aged three, in Shady Grove. [7]

According to his World War II draft registration card, William was five feet, five and a half inches tall. He had brown eyes and hair. His contact was Minnie Tennison of Jonesboro. [8]

On 13 April 1950, William J., aged 68 and born in Arkansas, was a lodger in St. Louis. He was widowed and unemployed. [7] St. Louis is about 230 miles north of Jonesboro.

Children of William Jasper Sibert and Rachel Annie West:

i. George Dewey Sibert was born on 24 June 1909 in Bono. [9] He is probably the Sgt. George D. Siebert who married Sharon Avis Mack on 21 January 1938. [10] Avis, the daughter of Morton S. Mack, was born on 22 November 1917 in Hooper, Dodge County, Nebraska. [1][6][11] She died on 13 May 1992 in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. [6][12][13] She married second Tony Bert. [13] Avis is buried in the Hooper Cemetery in Hooper. [6] George and Avis apparently left no children.

George's birth certificate says he was the first child of William Jasper, a 28-year-old farmer of Bono, and his wife, Rachel Annie West, aged 21. [9]

George is probably the Private George D. Sibert who was stationed at Fort Omaha, in Omaha, Nebraska on 16 April 1930. He was 22 years old and he and his parents were born in Arkansas. [7]

On 21 January 1938, George was a recruiting officer in the U.S. Army. He lived in Kansas City. [10]

ii. Earl H. Sibert was born on 23 August 1911 in Bono, Craighead County. [8][12] He died in March 1982. [12] He married Marguerite C. Oakes. Marguerite was the daughter of Emmett Oakes. She was born about 1919 in Nebraska.

On 21 April 1930, Earl was a lodger in Shady Grove. He was a farm laborer. [7]

On 6 or 7 April 1940, Earl H., aged 28 and born in Arkansas, and Marguerite C., aged 20 and born in Nebraska, lived in Omaha, Douglas County, Nebraska with their children Kathleen H., aged one and born in Nebraska, and Jesse E., aged eight months and born in Nebraska. Marguerite's father, Emmett A. Oakes, also lived with them. Earl was a soldier in the U.S. Army and Emmett was a laborer on a road project. [7]

According to his 17 May 1945 World War II draft registration card, Earl Henry had a wife Marguerite. He was unemployed and lived in Omaha. [8]

On 5 April 1950, Earl H., aged 38, and Marguerite, aged 30, lived in Omaha with their children: Kathleen, aged 11; Jesse, aged 10; Jerry, aged seven; and two others. Earl was a motorman for a street car. [7]

According to his obituary, Earl was survived by his wife Marguerite, his daughter Kathleen Baty, his sons Jesse and Jerry, and two possibly living children. [14]

Children of Earl H. Sibert and Marguerite C. Oakes:

iii. Ovel Sibert was born about 1918 in Arkansas.
