I-B-6 REVEREND JEFFERSON DAVIS SIBERT (1864 – 1931), son of Henry Sibert3 (David2, John David1)

Jefferson Davis Sibert was born in April 1862 in Collinsville, DeKalb County, Alabama. [1, 1864] He died on 27 July 1931. [1] Jefferson Davis of Walcott County Arkansas married Victoria Virginia Crowley of Walcott by a 12 May 1887 marriage bond. [2][3] Victoria was the daughter of Brigadier General Benjamin H. Crowley. [4][5] She was born on 1 October 1866 in Miami, Florida. [1, 1867][2] She died in 1942 in Miami. [1] Jefferson and Victoria are buried in the Miami City Cemetery in Miami. [1]

Jefferson earned an M.D. at the Vanderbilt University School of Medicine, where he was valedictorian of his class. [4][6] He practiced medicine for 12 years. He then earned a D.D. degree and entered the ministry. [4]

According to the census, in 1900, Jefferson, born in April 1862 in Alabama, and Victoria, born in March[!] 1868 in Arkansas[!], lived in Junction, Lane County Oregon, with their children, Elna, born in March 1888 in Arkansas; Olin, born in March 1893 in Arkansas; and Cecil, born in April 1897 in Arkansas. Jefferson and Victoria had been married for 13 years. Victoria had had five children and three were living. Jefferson was a clergyman. [7]

In 1908, Reverend J.D. Sibert became the pastor of the First Methodist Episcopal Church, South in Miami. [8] His daughter Elna's obituary says the family moved to Miami in the hope the climate would improve her health. [9]

In 1910, Jefferson D., aged 48, and Victoria D., aged 42, lived in Miami with their children, Olin D., aged 17; Williamette D., aged ten; and J.[illegible]., aged seven. Jefferson and Victoria had been married for 22 years. Victoria had had seven children and three were living. Jefferson was a minister. In 1930, J.D., aged 67, and Victoria, aged 63, lived in Miami with their son, J.D., Jr., aged 26; their son-in-law Archie J. Miller, aged 30 and born in Georgia; their daughter Bilye Miller, aged 28; and their granddaughter Archylean, aged four and born in Florida. J.D., Jr. was a lawyer, Archie was a lumber salesman, and Bilye was an artist. [7]

According to his obituary, Jefferson was survived by his wife and three children, J.D. Sibert, Jr., a Miami lawyer; Dr. Olin D. Sibert of Atlanta; and Mrs. Archie J. Miller of Atlanta. [4]

Children of Jefferson Davis Sibert and Victoria Virginia Crowley:

I-B-6-a. Elna M. Sibert was born on 12 March 1890 in Arkansas. [2] She died of tuberculosis on 10 February 1910 in Miami. [9] She is buried in the Miami City Cemetery. [1]

I-B-6-b. Unknown Sibert was born say 1892 and died by 1900.

I-B-6-c. Doctor Olin Davis Sibert was born on 10 February 1894 in Arkansas. [2][10] He died on 25 July 1964, aged 70, in Atlanta. [1][10][11][16] He married Martha May Ballard on 30 May 1919 in Fulton County, Georgia. [2][10][12] Martha was born on 4 September 1890. [13] She died on 29 October 1967 in Baldwin, Georgia. [1][16] Olin, Martha, and their son Olin, Jr. and his wife are buried together in the Crest Lawn Cemetery in Atlanta. [1]

In 1920, Olin D., aged 24, and Martha M., aged 25 and born in Georgia, lived in Grantville, Coweta County, Georgia. Olin was a dentist. In 1930, Olin D., aged 25[!], and Martha M., aged 28[!], lived in Atlanta with their son Olin D., aged nine and born in Georgia. Olin was a dentist. In 1940, Olin D., aged 46, and Martha M., aged 49, lived in Atlanta with their son Olin D., aged 19. Olin was a dentist. In 1950, Olin D., aged 56, and Martha M., aged 60 lived in Atlanta with their son Olin, Jr., aged 29. Olin was a dentist; Olin, Jr. had never married and did not work. [7]

According to his obituary, Dr. Olin Sibert, Sr. was survived by his wife, Martha Ballard; a son, Olin S. Sibert, Jr. of Atlanta; a sister, Miss Billye Sibert of Miami; and a brother, J.D. Sibert, Jr. of Miami. [11]

I-B-6-d. Unknown Sibert was born say 1896 and died by 1900.

I-B-6-e. Cecil C. Sibert was born on 15 Apr 1897 in Arkansas and died there on 11 Nov 1902. [1] He is buried in the Old Harrisburg Cemetery, in Harrisburg, Poinsett County, Arkansas. [1]

I-B-6-f. Williametta "Billye" Orieta Sibert was born on 19 February 1902 in Junction City, Oregon. [2][10][17] She died on 7 December 1996. [10] She married first Archie Joshua Miller on 27 December 1922 in Palatka, Putnam County, Florida. [18][19] Archie was born about 1900 in Georgia. Archie and Billye divorced in 1933 in Dade County, Florida. [20] Billye married second Dr. Royal Bartlett Saalfrank on 24 June 1933 in Norfolk, Virginia. [17][21] Royal, the son of John and Nina (Bartlett) Saalfrank, was born on 2 January 1893. [20][21] He died on 10 June 1974 in Pinellas, Florida. [20]

Billye studied art at the Art Students league in New York City and the Academy Collorossi in Paris. [5]

Children:

I-B-6-g. Jefferson Davis Sibert was born on 27 March 1903 in Arkansas. [2, 1904][1, 1902][13][20] He died on 29 June 1990 in Miami. [1][13][20] He married Annie Lane Cail on or shortly before 26 November 1938. [23] Annie, the daughter of Robert and M. Bertha Cail was born on 22 September 1907. [1] She died on 15 August 1991, age 83, in Miami. [1][24] Jefferson and Annie are buried in the Miami City Cemetery. [1]

Jefferson was a lawyer in Miami. [2]

According to her obituary, Annie left a son and a daughter. [24]
