104. EDWARD WYATT (d. 1680)

Edward Wyatt died on 14 February 1680 in Dorchester. [1] His widow died on 6 February 1705, age 94. [2]

Old widow Wyatt was a midwife, said (with some exaggeration) to have assisted at the births of over 1,100 children. [3]

Children of Edward Wyatt:

i. Nathaniel Wyatt (#52) was baptized on 2 (5) 1648. He died by 22 December 1718. He married first Joanna Spurr. He married second the widow Mary Corbin.

ii. Edward Wyatt

In 1690 Edward was one of a company of soldiers was raised in the town for an expedition against Canada. Most of the men never returned. Most of those who were lost died at sea or perished of sickness and accidents. [4]

iii. Waitstill Wyatt was baptized on 2 (1) 1654 in Dorchester. She died on 8 January 1728. She married Captain Thomas Vose, the son of Robert Vose (#108). [5]
