6. Isaac Parker (1760–1825), son of Moses Parker and Bridget Cummings

Isaac Parker was born on 22 August 1760 in Westford. [1] He died on 27 August 1825 in Bryon, New York and is buried in the Tyler Cemetery in Genesee County, New York. [1][2] He married Bridget Fletcher on 8 February 1785 in Westford. [1]

7. Bridget Fletcher (1760–1804), daughter of Timothy Fletcher and Bridget Richardson

Bridget Fletcher was born on 12 August 1760 in Westford. [1] She died on 16 July 1804 in Cavendish and is buried in the Old Cemetery in Proctorsville. [1][2]


The inscription on Isaac's grave says, "He was a kind husband, an affectionate father."[2]

Isaac was a soldier in the Revolutionary War from Westford. He was a drummer in Captain Timothy Underwood's company, Colonel William Prescott's regiment of Minutemen, which marched in response to the alarm of 19 April 1775 and was in service for 14 days. There is an order for advance pay for him, dated 9 June 1775 in Cambridge, as a soldier in Captain Joshua Parker's company, Colonel William Prescott's regiment. He in a 1 August 1775 muster roll as a drummer in the same company. He enlisted on 24 May and served 69 days. He is on a company return dated 17 September 1775. There is an order of a bounty coat or its equivalent in money dated 1 November at Cambridge. He was a private in Captain John Minott's company, Colonel Dike's regiment. He enlisted on 13 December 1776 and is on a muster roll for December 1776 to February 1777.The regimentwas raised to serve until 1 March 1777. He was in Captain Joshua Parker's company, Colonel Robinson's regiment. He enlisted on 5 July 1777 for service until 1 January 1778 at Rhode Island. [3]

Children of Isaac Parker and Bridget Fletcher:

i. Hannah Parker was born on 29 November 1785 in Cavendish. [4] She died on 9 August 1878 in Coventry, Orleans County, Vermont, age 92 years, eight months and 12 days. [4] She married Dr. Peleg Redfield. [5, 247][2] Peleg was born on 24 June 1774 in Killingworth, Connecticut. He died on 8 November 1843. Hannah and Peleg are buried together in the Coventry Center Cemetery.

ii. Sarah ("Sally") Parker was born on 21 December 1787 in Westford. [1] She died of "old age" on 5 September 1886, age 89 years, six months and 4 days, in Cavendish. [4] She is buried in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Proctorsville. [2]

In his will of 8 October 1850, Sally's nephew Lucien Proctor left a bequest to his aunt Sally Parker.

iii. Grace Parker was born on 29 May 1788 in Cavendish. [4] She died on 23 May 1790 in Cavendish. [4]

iv. Hon. Isaac Parker was born on 23 September 1790 in Cavendish. [4] He died on 30 July 1882 and is buried in the Day Cemetery in Coventry. [2] He married Arabella Cobb on 24 December 1818. [6]

Isaac entered Middlebury College in 1813 and graduated in 1815. He studied law with N.P. Fletcher in Ludlow for a year, but was forced to give it up because of ill health. He was a farmer in Coventry from 1816 to 1882. He was a representative to the legislature from 1831 to 1833 and from 1847 to 1849. He was an assistant judge for the county court from 1833 to 1834. v. Betsey Parker was born on 5 August 1792 in Cavendish. She died on 6 February 1871. She married first Jabez Proctor. She married second Nehemiah Colby.

vi. Nancy Parker was born on 1 June 1794 in Cavendish. [4] Nancy died on 22 February 1858, age 63, and is buried in the Twenty Mile Stream Cemetery in Cavendish. She married Zacheus Bates. [2]

In his will of 8 October 1850, Nancy's nephew Lucien Proctor left a bequest to his aunt Nancy Bates.

On 11 May 1837 Nancy's niece Harriet wrote in her journal, "Aunt Nancy came to see us."

vii. John Parker was born on 9 July 1795 in Cavendish. [4]

viii. Dr. Timothy Fletcher Parker was born on 22 December 1798 in Cavendish. [4] He died on 25 February 1872 and is buried in the Oakland Cemetery in Warren, Warren County, Pennsylvania. [2] He married Catherine Eddie. [7][8]. Catherine, the daughter of Zechariah and Rose (Stewart) Eddy was born on 2 November 1806. [8]

ix. Abigail G. Parker was born on 15 August 1800. [2] She died on 11 September 1872 in Weathersfield.[4] She is buried in the Hillcrest Cemetery in Proctorsville. [2]

x. Elijah Fletcher Parker was born on 5 August 1803. He died on 7 June 1893, age 89 years, ten months and two days, in Cavendish. [4]

In his will of 8 October 1850, Elijah's nephew Lucien Proctor asked Elijah F. Parker, Esq. to be his executor.
