ISAAC WALKER (1707–1782), son of Isaac Walker and Margery Bruce

SARAH BREED (b. prob. 1706/14–aft. 1764)

Isaac, the son of Isaac and Margery (Bruce) Walker, was born on 12 July 1707 in Woburn, Middlesex County, Massachusetts. [1] Isaac, Jr. died in Concord, Merrimack County, New Hampshire on 1 September 1782 after a long illness, and on the same day as his friend and distant relative Reverend Timothy Walker. [2] Isaac Walker of Woburn married Sarah Breed of Woburn on 16 March 1731. [1]

The identity of Sarah Breed is unknown. If she had her last child in 1749, she was probably not born much before 1706. If she had her first child in 1732 she was probably not born much later than 1714. It is possible that she was a widow.

Rumford was renamed Concord in 1765, after the resolution of an acrimonious border dispute with Bow.

Isaac, Jr. was appointed a hog reeve in Rumford on 9 March 1735/6 and on 2 March 1740/1. He was chosen a tythingman on 31 Mar 1742. [2]

Reverend Timothy Walker had a garrison in Rumford. Small temporary houses were built within the walls of the garrison. Isaac Walker, Jr.'s family was one of seven assigned to this garrison on 15 May 1746. [3]

On Sunday, 5 August 1764, Reverend Timothy Walker wrote in his diary that he, "Propounded Isaac Walker, Jr. and wife to own ye covenant." [3]
