THOMAS READ (d. 1701)
Thomas was the son of Thomas Read and Rachel ___ of Colchester, co. Essex. He was the brother of Mary Read.
Thomas Read, Sr. died on 13 September 1701 in Sudbury. [Ref] He married first Katherine Unknown. She died on 26 September 1677 in Sudbury. [Ref] He married second Mary Wood on 7 March 1677/[8] in Sudbury. [Ref] He married Arabella Thong on 29 December 1689 in Sudbury. [Ref] She died on 29 April 1717 in Sudbury. [Ref]
Thomas Read of Sudbury made his will on 9 September 1701 and witnesses testified on 6 October 1701. Thomas mentioned his wife Arabella, his son Thomas, his cousin John Bacon of Watertown, the youngest son of his son Thomas and his grandson Thomas, son of his son Thomas. His grandson Thomas was his executor. [Ref]
Arabella Read of Sudbury made her will on 20 April 1717. She freed her "Negro maid servant" Frank, left her her estate, and name her her executrix. Witnesses testified on 20 May 1717; probate was on 2 June 1717. [Ref]
