JAMES COBB (1696–1744), son of John Cobb and Rachel Soule

THANKFUL THOMAS (1695–1743), daughter of Jeremiah Thomas and Lydia Howland


James, the son of John Cobb, was born on 12 April 1696 in Middleborough, Plymouth County, Massachusetts.1 He died on 27 January 1743/4, age 46, and is buried in the Old Cemetery in Middleborough.2

Thankful, the daughter of Jeremiah Thomas, was born on 30 June 1695 in Middleborough.1 the wife of James, died on 17 April 1743, age 47, and is buried in the Old Cemetery in Middleborough.2

Children of James Cobb and Thankful Thomas:

i. Lydia Cobb was born on 17 October 1718 in Middleborough. She married Seth Howland.

ii. Thankful Cobb was born on 4 June 1722 in Middleborough.3 She died on 4 January 1766, age 53 years and seven months, in Middleborough.3 She married Ichabod Wood on 16 February 1743 in Middleborough.3 Ichabod, the son of Samuel (Samuel, Henry) Wood, was born on 13 July 1719 in Middleborough.3 He died on 8 August 1787, age 68 years and 15 days, of "black jaundice" in Middleborough.3 He married second Priscilla Thomas on 27 March 1777 in Middleborough.3 Priscilla, the daughter of Ebenezer and Anna (Ransom) Thomas, was born on 13 March 1736/7 in Middleborough and died on 9 August 1824, age 87 years, four months and six days, in Middleborough.3

iii. James Cobb was born on 11 March 1726/7 in Middleborough.4 He died on 14 August 1773, age 46, and is buried in the Old Cemetery in Middleborough.2 Susanna, the widow of James, died on 21 June 1813, age 87, and is buried in the Old Cemetery in Middleborough.2

iv. Sarah Cobb was born on 9 April 1729 in Middleborough.4
