William Ring (d. 1620/9)

Mary Unknown (d. 1631)

Tentative evidence suggests the the widow Mary Ring who arrived in New England on the second Mayflower in 1629 with her children was the Mary Durrant of Ufford, co. Suffolk, England who married William Ring of Pettistree, co. Suffolk on 2 May 1601 at Ufford. [1]

William died between 1620 and 1629 in Leyden. [1]

Mary died on 15 or 19 July 1631 in Plymouth. [2]

William and his children may have been the Ring family in the Pilgrim congregation in Leyden. [1]

Mary's undated will was proved on 28 October 9 Charles I [1633]. She left bequests to her son Andrew, her daugher Susan Clark, her daughter Elizabeth Deane, Stephen Deane, and Mrs. Warren. She asked that Andrew be allowed to live with Stephen Dean. [2]

Children of William and Mary Ring:

i. Elizabeth Ring was probably baptised on 23 February 1602 in Ufford. She married first Stephen Deane. She married second Josiah Cook.

ii. Susanna Ring was born about 1605/12. [1] She married Thomas Clark. [1] He married second Alice (Hallett) Nichols. [1]

Thomas Clark of Plymouth and Boston was perhaps the son of John Clark—the mate of the Mayflower on her 1620 voyage. [1] He was referred to, in turn, as a carpenter, yeoman, merchant and gentleman. [1]

iii. Andrew Ring was born about 1618. [1] He died on 22 February 1692/3 in Plymouth. [1] He married first Deborah, the daughter of Stephen Hopkins. [1] He married second Lettice, the widow of John Morton, about 1674. [1] She died on 22 February 1690/1. [1]
