Nathan Harding (1711–aft. 1762), son of Amaziah Harding and Hannah Rogers

Nathan Harding, the son of Amaziah Harding, was born on 29 October 1711 in Eastham, Barnstable County, Massachusetts.1,2 He died after 1762. He married first Anne Brown after 8 January 1736/7 (intention) in Eastham.1 He married second Abigail West on 15 November 1750 in Middletown, (then) Hartford County, Connecticut.3 Abigail was the daughter of Benjamin and Hannah (West) West.4
Anne (Anna) Brown died in November 1749 in Middletown.3
It is unknown who Anna's parents were. However, it is noted that William Brown married Anne Palmer on 17 December 1716 in Eastham.1,4
Nathan settled in Middle Haddam "not far from" 1740.2
Anna Harding and her husband Nathan were admitted to the Haddam Neck Congregational Church in East Hampton, Middlesex County, Connecticut on 28 March 1742.5 Nathan is on a 1743 tax list in East Hampton.6
"In 1749 the dysentery and nervous long fever visited many towns in Connecticut with distressing mortality. "7 This was probably typhoid fever and it was probably what killed Anne Brown and her children Elizabeth, Anna, and George.

i. Tabitha Harding was baptized on 18 April 1742.
ii. Ebenezer Harding was born on 15 August 1739 in Eastham. He died between 31 July and 13 October 1801. He ("Eleazer") was baptized on 18 April 1742. He married Huldah Tryon on 6 November 1760 in Middletown.3 Huldah is probably the daughter of David Tryon who was baptized on 19 October 1740 in Middletown.5 She died between 15 December 1808 and 29 March 1819.
Ebenezer Harding made his will on 31 July 1801. He left his sons George, Ebenezer, Amos, and Asahel, and his daughters Anne Matthews, Huldah Hudson, Lydia Goff, Elizabeth Holmes, and Martha Ackley two dollars each. He left his daughter Jemima Harding 100 dollars. He left the rest of his estate to his wife Huldah and appointed her his executrix. Inventory, amounting to 436-05-09 pounds was presented on 13 October 1801 and probate occurred on 26 October 1801.8
Huldah Harding made her will on 15 December 1808. She left her sons George, Ebenezer, Amos, and Asahel one dollar each. She left her deceased daughter Anne Matthews' heirs one dollar. She left her daughters Huldah Hudson, Elizabeth Holmes, Lydia Goff, and Martha Ackley one dollar each. She left the rest of her estate to her daughter Jemima Harding, whom she named her executrix. Probate occured on 29 March 1819; her inventory amounted to 569.95 dollars.8
iii. Lydia Harding was born on 28 June 1741. Lydia, the wife of Joseph, died on 27 December 1802, age 61 in East Hampton.5 She was baptized on 18 April 1742. She married Joseph Caswell.4
Joseph and his wife Lydia were admitted to full communion on 15 May 1768 in East Hampton.5
iv. Elizabeth Harding was born on 22 August 1743. She was baptized on 2 October 1743. She died in September 1749 in Middletown.3
v. Anna Harding was born on 18 February 1745. She was baptized on 5 May 1745. She died in November 1749 in Middletown.3
i. Nathan Harding was born on 19 December 1746. He was baptized on 15 March 1747. He died on 29 July 1828, probably in Exeter, Otsego County, New York. He married Thankful Clark.
vii. George Harding was born on 23 Sepember 1748. He was baptized on 13 November 1748. He died in November 1749 in Middletown.3

viii. Ephraim Harding was born on 9 May 1752. He was baptized on 17 May 1752. He died on 18 March 1835.9 He married Susannah [Susan] Wheeler.2,4 Susan died on 11 January 1847.9 Ephraim and Susan are buried in the Maple Lawn Cemetery in East Bethany, Genesee County, New York.9
ix. Benjamin Harding was born on 1 August 1756. He was baptized on 8 August 1756. He died on 13 August 1786, age 30, and is buried in the Hog Hill Cemetary in East Hampton.10 He married Olive Saxton.2,4
Benjamin was a soldier in Colonel Belden's regiment in the Revolutionary War.10
x. Abigail Harding was born on 3 December 1762.4 She died on 10 October 1820.9 Abigail Harding of Chatham married Gilead Bradley of Guilford on 9 October 1785 in Guilford.3,4 Gilead, the son of Noah and Elizabeth (Clarke) Bradley, was born on 26 July 1757 in Guilford.3 He died on 11 November 1851.9 Abigail and Gilead are buried in the Hammonasset Cemetery in Madison, New Haven County.9
Gilead was a soldier in the Revolutionary War.9
