Daniel was the son of Matthew and Rose Grinnell. [Lay]

Daniel, the father of the Daniel who married Lydia Peabody, and the son of Matthew, bought land in Portsmouth in 1656. [spouse] He was admitted freeman there in 1657. [spouse] He was there until 31 December 1783, when he and his wife Mary sold land. [spouse] By 1687 he was in Little Compton, where on 20 January 1688 he deeded his son Daniel half a lot. He deeded his soe Rchard the other half in 1694. [spouse]
