Garrett Haddon (c. 1605–1687/90)

Garrett Haddon was born about 1605. He died between 20 January 1686/7, when he wrote his will, and 20 March 1689/90, when it was proved. He married Margaret Unknown. She died on 20 March 1672/3. [1]

Garrett migrated to Boston in 1630, perhaps as a servant of Simon Bradstreet. He moved to Cambridge in 1632, to Salisbury in 1640 and to Amesbury in 1654. He was a planter and a tailor. [1]

Garrett was admitted to the Boston church in late 1630 or early 1631. He was a freeman on 14 May 1634. [1]

Garrett served on the trial jury in 1648 and 1653 and on the grand jury in 1667 and 1674. [1]

In his will of 20 January 1686/7, Garrett named his daughter Mary Blaisdell and his son-in-law Henry Blaisdell; his daughter Sarah Younglove; his grandson John Elliot; his grandchildren Ebenezer, Henry, John, Jonathan and Sarah Blaisdell and (his granddaughters) Elizabeth, the wife of John Huntington and Mary Rawlins. [1]

Inventory on Garrett's estate, presented on 1 June 1689, amounted to £181.5s. [1]

Children of Garrett Haddon and Margery Unknown:

i. Mary Haddon was born say 1637. She died on 12 December 1691 in Amesbury. She married Henry Blaisdell.

ii. Sarah Haddon was born on 15 January 1639/40 in Salisbury. [1] She married Edmund Eliot by 1660. She married Samuel Younglove between 2 January 1683/4 and 20 January 1686/7. [1]
