Richard Gale died on 22 March 1678/9 in Watertown. [1, 1, pt. 2: 45]

Mary, the wife of Richard, died on 2 August 1681 in Watertown. [1, 1, pt. 2: 51]

In 1640 Richard bought six acres in Watertown from Richard Browne. On 2 December he bought 250 acres from Richard Dummer. [2]

Richard Gale entered into an agreement with John Ball to take John's daughter Sarah, age about two, into his household for four years on 9 December 1658. [1, 1, pt. 1: 49]

Richard Gale wrote his will on 25 February 1678/9. He mentioned his wife, his son Abraham and his sons Abraham and Richard, his son John, and his daughters Sarah Garfield and Mary Flagg. Inventory was taken on 29 March 1679. The paper is torn but it included 250 acres worth 150 pounds. [3]

Children of Richard and Mary Gale: (order uncertain)

i. Sarah Gale was born on 8 (7) 1641 in Watertown. [1, 1, pt. 2: 9] She married Joseph Garfield on 3 April 1663. [4] Joseph, the son of Edward and Rebecca Garfield, was born on 11 February 1637 in Watertown. [4] He died on 22 August 1692. [2]

ii. Abraham Gale was born about 1643. He died on 15 September 1718 in Watertown. He married Sarah Fiske.

iii. John Gale died by 1695. He married Elizabeth Spring on 27 September 1677 in Watertown. [1, 1, pt. 2: 43] Elizabeth was the daughter of Henry and Mehitable (Bartlett) Spring. [2] She married second John Mellon before 1695. [2]

iv. Mary Gale married John Flagg on 30 March 1670 in Watertown. [1, 1, pt. 2: 33] John was the son of Thomas Flagg of Watertown. [2]

v. Ephraim Gale probably died by 25 February 1678/9. He was "distempered in mind" in May 1673. [2]
