Administration on John's estate was granted to his son Samuel on 25 February 1717/8. William Nickerson of Chatham was appointed guardian of his daughter Bethia; Samuel was appointed guardian of his son Seth; [his son] Deane was appointed guardian of his son David; Richard Knowles of Chatham was appointed guardian of his son John; Samuel Steward of Chatham was appointed guardian of his daughter Mary; Thomas Atkins of Chatham was appointed guardian of his son Stephen. i. James Smiith was born on 13 February 1694/5 and he died on 27 May 1696. [NENS0]

ii. Samuel Smith was born on 25 May 1696. [NENS0] He married Mercy, the daughter of Isaac Higgens of Eastham. [NENS0]

iii. Deane Smith was born about 1698. [NENS0] He married Esther, the daughter of John Rider of Yarmouth. [NENS0]

iv. Mercy Smith was born about 1700. [NENS0] She married Nathan Kenney of Chatham on 24 September 1729. [NENS0]

v. Mary Smith was born about 1702. [NENS0] She married Obadiah Chase. [NENS0]

vi. John Smith was born on 7 April 1703. [NENS0] He married first Elizabeth, the daughter of George and Martha (Cooke) Brown, on 21 September 1727. [NENS0] He married second Lydia, the widow of Ebenzer Snow, on 7 April 1763. [NENS0]

vii. Stephen Smith was born about 1706. Hw married Bathsheba Brown.

viii. Bethia Smith was born about 1708. [NENS0] She married Elisha, the son of Elisha and Elizabeth (Merrick) Young, on 15 December 1731. [NENS0]

ix. David Smith was born about 1711. [NENS0]

x. Seth Smith was born about 1713. [NENS0] He married first Elizabeth Unknown on 15 March 1737. [NENS0] She died on 12 April 1756. [NENS0] He married second Mary (Godfrey) Nickerson. [NENS0] Mary was the daughter of Moses and Deborah (Cook) Godfrey and the widow of Caleb Nickerson. [NENS0]
