GAMALIEL BEAMAN


Gamaliel Beaman died on 23 March 1678 in Dorchester. [ERL, 259] He married Sarah Clark. [ERL, 259]

Gamaliel came to New England in the Elizabeth and Ann in 1635 and settled in Dorchester. [ERL, 259]

Gamaliel Beaman signed the articles of agreement of Lancaster with his mark on 31 May 1659. [ERL, 31]

Gamaliel was alloted land in Lancaster on 5 February 1659. [ERL, 71]

Gamaliel was the constable in Lancaster in 1671. [ERL, 90]

Gamaliel returned to Dorchester in poverty during King Philip's War. The tax rates for Gamaliel, Sr., Gamliel, Jr., John, and Thomas Beaman are listed there as "desperate debts." His sons later returned to Lancaster. [ERL, 259]
