John may be the John Williams who was proposed to take up his freedom at the next court on 5 March 1638/9. [NBS1] He was made a freeman on 3 December 1639. [NBS1]

John was on the committee for the town of Sciuate on 2 June 1640, 29 August 1643, 6 March 1643/4, 5 June 1644 and 20 August 1644, 1 June 1647, 7 June 1648. [NBS1]

John was appointed a surveyor of highways in Scituate on 2 March 1641, 1 June 1647. [NBS2]

Samuel Mayo sued John Williams, Sr. for trespass with damages of 40 pouns on 7 June 1648. The case was dismissed with plaintiff assessed costs.

Children of John and Ann Williams:

i. Ann Williams married John Barker.

ii. Captain John Williams

John Williams, Jr. was appointd constable in Scituate on 4 June 1650. [NBS2] He wwas propounded to be free on 5 June 1651. [NBS2]

In his will, Captain John Williams of Scituate mentions the children of his sister Mary Dodson and his sister Anna. He mentions his kinswoman Mary now wife of David Wood and in a codicil refers to her children with husband Coombs. [GALG]

iii. Mary Williams married unknown Dodson.
