JOHN TILLEY
John Tilley died between 11 January and 10 April 1621 in Plymouth. [MGV] His wife died in early 1621, but after 11 January. [MGV]
John Tilley came to Plymouth on the Mayflower with his wife and daughter Elizabeth. [OPP, 442] He and his wife died "a little after they came ashore." [OPP]
Edward Tilley came to Plymouth on the Mayflower with his wife Ann and two children Henry Sampson and Humility Cooper, who were their cousins. [OPP, 442] Both Edward and his wife died soon after arrival. Humility was sent back to England and died there. Henry married and had seven children. [OPP, 446]
On 15 November 2020, after landing on Cape Cod, Captain Miles Standish commanded an exploring expedition. William Bradford, Stephen Hopkins and John Tilley accompanied them. [OPP, ch. 10, fn. 2] John and Edward Tilley were two of seven men who went out to explore the freezing cold night of 6 December and had an encounter with hostile Indians. [OPP, ch. 10, fn. 7]
